25.2 spare tire

Thor Axis/Vegas 25.2 spare tire mount mod. Has anyone mounted a spare on theirs... Obviously can't mount above bumper or in front. Thanks.

Did you purchase the model that tilts to the side for removing the spare? I considered a hitch mount but it would be in the way of the slide when extending the slide.

I would be interested in the answer to this question as well.

Same here... Would hate to hate to lower the wheel everytime we extend the slide

And you may hate it even more if you forgot to lower it.

Yes, there is always the case of the absent minded RV driver here.

That would be my concern. I could not rely on my memory because I know for a fact I'd end up opening the slide into the spare tire -- it'd be a matter of time.

Who knows, even if it happens it "may" not do much. Once the slide motors sense the added resistance they may shut off without causing too much damage.

I am deciding on this as well. I voted against the hitch mount because of the forgetful factor. Plus having to move it everytime I use the slide.
I will be mounting it underneath since it will probably never be used.
I plan on mounting an E450 spare tire winch, they are available online for less than 100 bucks

a simple little sticker next to switch takes care of people that are in a hurry and forget to lower tire.

Cool. Does it block the rear compartment? Extend above the bottom of the rear slide?
