Dream Dinette

The response from Thor’s Customer Assistance when we asked for assistance on our Dream Dinette table that collapses was to take it to the dealer. Nearing our 1 year anniversary and not keen on driving 85 miles one-way, we’re thinking we probably can come up with a solution on our own. But I have a question. All of the photos I have seen the Dream Dinette has one support. Ours has two.

I went to Cass Hudson’s website and downloaded the installation PDF . . . only one support.

Having two supports really takes a lot of space under the table, and I’m thinking our problem is that the supports don’t ‘synchronize’ with each other. Maybe removing one would solve our problem. Looking for some feedback here . . . what do you think?

I have one support and it is in the center. You may want to try that to see if it solves your problem, as mine is trouble free. Jerry

I have one support in the center and mine was collapsing also. I had the dealer adjust the latching mechanism when they were working on other issues I had. You may try to adjust where it latches to make it better.

Our dream dinette has two supports. Not sure about the "synchronize" theory, but ours works... sometimes clunky but it works. Since it also doubles as a desk, I'm glad it has two supports, it is otherwise a very wide table (41.5") that I am afraid would sag on either side when used with our laptops, printers, etc. if it only had one support in the middle. For ours, to put it down both levers must be turned and then push on the table near the center near the wall to get it started.

(This is probably a stupid thought...)
Could you add a third support in between the other two?

Dream Dinette

It has to be the most flimsy table around . I wish mine had 2 supports . When I took the unit home the first time the table fell off . Cheap !

You can see where the dealer repositioned the bracket on my table leg. Hope this helps. Click image for larger version
