Replacing Locks to Outside Storage Compartments

I started the process of replacing the standard 751 key for my outside storage compartments, but this has lead to some questions.

I spoke with a rep from Camping Connection, he said that for each RV Designer lock size, "Part L548" e.g., the key numbers are the same. So even if I switch to a different key they're still massed produced. Everyone with my size lock will still have the same key as me? What's the point?

Am I missing something? How do I change out these locks to something that has even a little bit of security?

I kinda decided to only secure the Ext TV with a combo lock. The other compartments don't really hold anything too costly to replace. If I get ripped off, I'll revisit that decision.

FWIW... RVLocksAndMore | RV Locks | RV Keys | Fastec FIC Locks and Keys has 751 replacements. I personally consider a flat key more pocket friendly and keys that only remove when in the locked position drive me bonkers.

I took the inner cylinder of all my locks to a local and competent locksmith. He rearranged inner pieces to create a new pattern and cut me a couple of keys to fit my new personal standard. No more CH751, did not buy any new locks.
