Echo Dot in the RV

Has anyone else installed an Amazon Alexa ECHO DOT in their RV?

So far have used it to stream music and access the internet by voice.

Getting ready to install some "smart outlets" to control some 110v devices..

Just kind of interesting what you can add to your MOBILE HOUSE.

In our Miramar, I’ve converted from the fire stick to the cube and added motion / temperature / camera ....all synced with Alexa. Using TMobile service.

I put in the fire stick but never thought about adding an echo dot. I just happen to have one. Great idea thanks.

Ok... I am not as techy as I need to be, so please be kind...

Aren’t the Cube and Firestick for the TV? What WiFi service is used? Confused?

We use the WiFi that the campgrounds have. We just got our
MH but where we have been had WiFi. We use the stick at home. PlayStation vue is our provider. If you to make your old TV a “smart” TV just add the stick.

We have a NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK hotspot in the coach, using ATT for bandwidth..

So far the connectivity has been very good...

We have the FIRESTICKS on the Main Cabin and Bedroom televisions..

We have the UNLIMITED DATA from ATT for the HOTSPOT, however, we also have DIRECTV NOW which doesn't count on the ATT cellular as ANY data consumption.

I just linked the DOT and the FIRESTICK, makes for some sweet remote service.

I have Sprint unlimited data and supposedly I can use my iPhone as a WiFi hotspot? Would the Dot work off of my iPhone?

I had the original Firestick, not the 4K version. The Firecube controls lights, thermostat and other devices out of the box, plus is a full fledge Alexa.

Works with WiFi such as with your smart phone if preferred while traveling or dedicated carrier such as ATT, Verizon, or TMobile.

It should, I have used my phone as a hotspot for one of our DOT's...

We just have set the RV up with its own HOTSPOT and network...

I am using the GEN 2 DOT in the RV, so is easy to have the mini usb power on the DOT being run off of COACH 12v.. I know the GEN 3 DOT basically takes an AC adapter and haven't looked at how that could be powered off 12v. Is the "CUBE" the same way (using AC adapter for power)?
