Factory stereo install by Thor

Can a factory stereo install by Thor motor coach be changed to an after market all the stereo shops say no because everything runs through The head unit so there's no wires for the cameras

First, welcome to the forum.

What is the model rig on which you would like to replace the stereo?

Next, find a stereo shop that has folks that know just a little about what they are supposed to be doing. All you need is a unit that will accept one connection for a camera. On most rigs, all of the cameras plug into a switch and the switch has one output going to the radio.

Conduct a search on the forum and you will find quite a few threads where folks swapped out for Kenwwood's, Pioneers, Alpines and others. Some folks even went so far as to install a separate camera monitor so they can view all cameras at the same time along with the stern swap.

Enjoy the mod.

Enjoy the search. The reading will impart knowledge.

It is a 2018 synergy with the fusion 801 Infotainment system

Hopefully unrelated:
I think we've found in This forum that all complaints about thor customer service arise from owner communication inability and owner phone demeanor.

Walk into a shop and tell them you'd like to spend money.

I think the op isn't communicating in the language of stereo shops.

I opted for a seperate fulltime camera monitor.
The shop said
Ok
Then did the work.

I bought the Kenwood with the floating screen and they say they can't install it they pulled the stereo out and there's no CO ax cables for the cameras Everything must run through that multiplex wiring

I don't know what you call "multiplex wiring" but the Fusion radio comes with two wiring harnesses to connect to the vehicle. The secondary wiring harness has the AV inputs/outputs and should have a standard RCA connection for the camera feed. That RCA connection is not on a COAX cable like for cable TV, but on a standard stereo AV cable.

Maybe they need to look past the wiring harness connectors to the radio to the other end of the harnesses.

It would be mere minutes to swap them out if that is indeed the malfunction in their thought process.

An adapter is surely available if they can't cut and splice.

I'm not sure this is it after my 15 second search but I think you can find any you'd like.

Why? Will you be restoring it back to original radio?
Don't look under that dash
You'll not like what you see....

In that case my recommendation to you is to find a radio that will work with the multiplex wiring and have the radio shop install it.

Don't count on Thor to provide advice on how you can swap out their standard equipment with an after market item. I'm surprised they haven't already told you and the radio shop to pound sand.

I'm thinkong the stereo shop might be in
Pound sand
Mode.

I can't think of any other excuse.
It might be based on op bought just any radio instead of a compatable radio.

But
I'm about cure, not excuse.
The shop might be looking for an excuse to not be involved.

It just now dawned on me what the three to one box is:
Its the standard camera control box thor uses.

It is now pretty definite to me that the SHOP doesn't want involved in this installation on this particular rv.

What they showed the op has nothing to do with the radio seeing camera control.
Its just one video line in, nothing else.
Video from TV, monitor, camera, DVD....radio head doesnt care.

Did you buy the head unit from them or did you just bring it in? Hopefully you can return it and get a more compatible one. Good luck however it turns out.

If they didn't want to get involved they wouldn't be email and calling people to try to find out what head unit will work in this RV

You need to find another stereo shop. It is not rocket science, that is why so many stoners do their own installs. Put the factory head unit back in and wait until you find someone to do it for you. Maybe even do it yourself.
