So Lotsa mods I been following all good!
What do y'all do with original parts? Say like original thermostat that you convert to digital?
I come from the waste not, want not gen.
Something about throwing away a new good part gets me!

I think it's an age thing...I've spent most of my life collecting and saving things...even the few inches we cut off a new board. Now...I'm throwing dumpsters of stuff away in prep for retirement. We currently live in a 4,440 SF home on 6 acres in Atlanta. Recently bought our retirement home in PCB...1,089 SF. I've defined my space. Throw it away...don't even look back. If it was worth a crap you wouldn't have replaced it.

Agreed!
I have also begrudgingly transitioned to the "Throw it the Heck out!" mode as well...
It keeps my Missus a lot less angry with me...

Yeah I just helped a family member move and downsize from 2000+ sq ft to 630 sq ft. It was very enlightening all the stuff we ended up throwing out, giving away, recycling, etc.
Several times as I was throwing out a box of "stuff" I thought to myself: "I have this very same box of junk at home...well I know what I'm doing when I get home" ! LOL

If you have not used it in 6 months and have no need for it in 6 months, Throw it away!
I need to take my own advice though.......................

He was dumbfounded
What's that?!
It took a long time to accumulate this much junk!

When you see a hearse towing a u-haul trailer you'll know it's OK to keep it. You can't take it with you!!

My Mom passed away a couple of years ago and the hell my sister, wife, and myself went through cleaning out all the stuff that had been saved took months and several dumpsters. She had lived in the same house that her and my Dad had bought in 1950. It was an eye opening experience and extremely difficult. Been trying to sort our stuff since and it is still difficult to part with stuff

Same here with my parents...that's where my first post above came from. 3 years to get through 3 generations of "stuff". Nothing they thought was gonna be worth a fortune ever was. eBay has ruined the value of any collectibles. After we finally got through it and sold the house...I started on mine and I literally preach to all my "old" friends...please don't do this to your kids!!! If you don't use it within 6 months...you don't need it!

It's tough guys if y'all ever remember having to actually work to get something!
It's still amazing to me to throw away a perfectly good part

Try to think to think of them like this:
If they were "perfectly good": you wouldn't be needing to replace them!

Yep!
Or I could just keep it and realize the digital part is just a want?
Craftsman anyone?
One tool is not good enough!

I blame it on my grandparents along with my ability to MacGyver most everything, they were farmers and all that stuff had uses. Now-a-days I am starting to throw stuff out so my family doesn't have to deal with it when I am gone. I put scrap wood in the green recycle bin. At least that way it doesn't go to the landfill!

You'll never convince me of that...
But then: you've never seen the mountain of money that I've spent "accessorizing" all of my vehicles!

When decided to full time and sold our house we offered up a lot of stuff to the kids as well as yard sales, Craigslist (for the stuff worth anything) and then what was left over that we didn't pack in the RV got hauled to the dump. I still look back fondly on that day when we took two U-Haul loads to the dump and pitched it all off the top into the landfill. That was one of the most liberating days of my life.
That isn't to say that I don't keep some parts as spares. One thing I have learned is that RVs will have parts fail. Depending upon what they are, it can be very helpful to have a spare handy.
