Installing lights on outside wall

I want to install a couple of small solar lights on the outside passenger side wall at the top, but below the awning. What precautions should I follow for drilling into the wall, or is it not reccomended to do this.

Search the forum. There are folks that installed lights with some type of 3M adhesive tape.

We thought of that but saw these under over many rigs as we traveled to 25 plus states

Rope lights are great under an awning. They also come in 12 volt versions that can be connected to the coach's 12 volt system and can be trimmed to the exact length you need. The best version allows you to change the color of the LEDs or select a changing pattern of colors.

Drilling into the wall is not recommended but can be done. Up where you are installing the lights the risk is damaged wiring. Start with a small drill bit (as in 1/8 inch) and go very slow.

You also need to consider the routing of the wiring on the inside of your rig. Hopefully, the wire enters the rig into a cabinet or removable panel so you can keep it hidden.

Happy Trails,
Jim

3M double sided tape for automotive trim will hold those lights up with no drilling. It holds the trim on millions of cars, so why not light strips. Just turn them off around 10 PM so I can see the stars. Sometimes it's hard to see them with all the look at me lights in a rural campground.
