Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket brand for this assembly that isn’t a complete piece of crap and maybe an upgrade? These likely cost $1 to make and get so brittle. They are so heavily used on an RV you’d think they’d beef it up a little? Such junk.

I've owned 4 RVs and used with kids and grandkids and never had to replace one of those.

What about trying to repair it with epoxy?

Hi Bob, I did that and it just cracked in another spot. Going to epoxy again but was just hoping for an alternate product as there are many in other categories. Noticed a few ppl with the same issue on this forum. Oh well!

Just countering your antidotal experience that you expanded to cover all items in this category. You think they're all cheap junk based on this one poor experience, but the majority of RVers have no problem with them, which has been my experience. Maybe you got a poorly molded one, maybe it got smacked at some point and weakened.

Chances are, all you will find is the OEM replacement; maybe at a third party reseller for a few dollars less; but you won't find one made by a third party manufacturer because there isn't enough demand for it. Maybe you could 3D print a replacement?

Take a piece of plastic that is similar to that slider, and heat it until you can shape it to match any curve that you'll be covering. Then epoxy that over the cracked areas.
It won't be pretty: But it should hold until a better solution is found.
Good luck!

I just installed a screen door handle/bar and leave the bubble plastic alone as much as possible. I think I bought the screen door handle/bar from Camping World for about $25.00. Installed with screws into the screen door.

Yea, we bought a Camco bar and screen protector (psyco dog) on Amazon for about $70. Easy install.
