generator gas tank add on

I was strongly advised by Birdie's Power Equipment to not use gas containing ethanol to run my Onan generator. Gas not containing ethanol is very expensive compared to regular with ethanol. I'd rather not keep filling up 50 gallons at that price.

I would like to add a small gas tank to service the generator. Anyone ever tried to do this.

Oman says you can run 10 percent Ethanol. Fuel requirements are addressed in the Oman manual and guide. On me C and A the generator used the same gas as the V10 and I never had a problem.

If the ambient is over 80 degrees or you live in an area that requires reformulated gasoline, you need to run the generator often to replace the gasoline in the fuel line and the carburetor. Onan recommends at least every month. When the temperature is in the 90s, like here in South Texas, I run the generator for an hour every two weeks. If you live in a cold area where the gasoline is not reformulated; then, then you only need to run the generator once a month to vaporize the condensation off the generator's stator.

Thanks guys. I guess my paranoia was unnecessary. I do live in cold country and I run my generator monthly. Now I can go back to regular unleaded. Still high price up here but it's all we get.
