GPS Antenna Location

Hello to all, I am planning on upgrading my JRV212T with a JRV9000 in my 2014 Hurricane 34E. My question is about the best location for the GPS antenna. I would like to place it under the dash and out of sight. I've read this is acceptable as long as there is no metal blocking the SAT signal. Has anyone tackled this project? Much appreciated.

I upgraded my 212 to the 215 which also has a GPS in it--the 9000 didn't exist when I did the upgrade.

I left the GPS antenna under the dash panel with thumbscrews. The radio locks the location pretty quickly and can see almost all of the satellites within view. (Of course this is on my Axis which is a little smaller than your Hurricane but does have similar construction.)
