Gun Safe Ideas?

For those that support the 2nd Amendment, what are some ideas about where to store and secure a gun safe in an RV. I'm not talking about a rifle or shotgun, but just a typical handgun that could be quickly, but securely accessed while traveling. I have done a little bit of research, but there doesn't seem to be any niche products that cater to this industry.

For those who will suggest not traveling with a firearm or spout state specific laws about travel, not interested.

This should be a fun topic... can't wait for the crazies!

Safe

Liberty Safes makes a thin "personal size" that also has the "biometric" opening option. It comes with a cable that could be wrapped around your front seat pedestals. Small, pretty secure and accessible.

I have a hand gun the I bought just for the RV, it's in there 24/7. What do you need a safe for?

I have one of the cable gun safes tethered to the passenger seat base and a second biometric/key safe installed elsewhere in the MH as well.

If you have a permit and carry everywhere (some do) it just stays by the bedside, L&L. I never lock it up as 3 seconds is all you have if you need it. I'm very careful to know the wacko laws of some states and will conform for those short trips. There are a very few states I will not pleasure because of their laws. I do not travel.with kids...otherwise...different story. Keep 3 in the coach...one up front, one midship and your carry by the bed at night. I use several different carry options depending on clothing including a shoulder holster where appropriate.

Pretty much agree with that unless there is a chance that there may be investigative kids.

Agreed... we have 2 teenagers that follow the rules, but kids will be kids. I like the Liberty option that poster mentioned too.

I keep mine where it's safest: on my hip, or in my pocket.
(Depending on whether it's "Ole Slabsides"; or just the Seecamp...)
It doesn't leave my side... EVER!

I purchased a small "Snap safe" that is TSA Airline approved for our trip to S.C. to pickup our ws31. That allowed me to have the gun with us on the trip home to WA. I use this ccw app to stay up to date with new laws.
Well, that didn't work. It is in the google play store. CCW – Concealed Carry 50 State Workman Consulting LLC

If my 9MM is not on my hip you can find it in a pocket of the driver's seat when on the road and at night it lays on a shelf just above my bed.

If for some reason I cannot carry into a place there is secure storage in RV for it.

Gun Safe Ideas?

Aside from all other legal and safety considerations, there is a magnetic option that simply attaches with 2 screws that will secure just about any handgun.

Gun Storage

Timely subject. I am heading south to AZ from MT for three months, Jan thru March and decided to get my concealed Carry card for MT and AZ. Maybe Utah as well. I took the concealed carry class at Cabela's through Legal Heat. My card came within a week! I got the 50 state carry laws book as well.

I purchased a gun safe at Cabela's, the snap safe with a cable and keys. Now I need to get back to the range and hone my skills again. I suppose I could attach it to the back of the passenger seat base in states where needed. I also carry 2 good quality cannisters of bear spray. However, I sure don't want to use that inside the MH.

I have a fully carry permit: no restrictions.
(Other than not being allowed to carry in NYC and a couple of other Cities.)

I'm an Upstater too Bob, and have an Unrestricted. I carry and/or store on drivers seat or by bed. I've considered using the dinette seat for long gun storage though. A small safe would fit as well if needed for the grandkids. As an aside, Bob, make sure that you contact your local Senator to oppose S9191. We don't need to give up our passwords and PC's to prove that we're still Law Abiding Citizens.

I travel with 2 loaded handguns, 1 in front cabinet and 1 in rear nightstand. If police want to search my vehicle, they had better have a solid reason or a search warrant. I don't carry the guns to start trouble. I carry them, to end trouble protecting my family, myself and my RV. They are not in a gun safe since that co
could take too long to get to them in a situation.
