back up lights- upgrade

always had a bit of problem with backing up at night, could not see good the rear spot lights were just not up to the task.

so i mounted led fog lights in the rear and wired them to the normal back up lights. this makes the fog lights come off/on automatically

the light out put is great. back up lighting problem solved

nice install!

I did the same thing a couple years ago. My first try was something smaller. The were ok, just ok. light output was marginally helpful

Several of the LED's eventually burned out so I replaced with some 36 watt units similar to yours, except with 12 LED's in each light. I'd still like it brighter sometimes, but not really necessary. The only issue I have found is that the extra light I thought would help the rear view camera. Instead it hurts it. The camera doesn't switch out of night vision mode and the light overwhelms the camera. Really more of a camera issue than a light issue. I rely more on the mirrors anyway.

i adjusted the rear camera to look a bit farther out, i can see 40ft plus, the camera does not get blinded but the new lights and it is easier to back into a space since i can see farther, i did lose a few feet of view directly behind the coach (about 4ft)
