Help generator exhaust extension

Anyone find an extension we can put on or remove when needed?
Move the gas away from our coaches?

Also anyone every find a way to make our onan 4000 quieter?

Any mods?

Try looking up the Camco Gen-turi exhaust extension system. You can add it at a campground and remove it when you travel. It vents the exhaust up and over your motor home.

Don’t think it would work for us. Our generator is under the bedroom slide!

Try an auto parts store if all you want to do is extend the exhaust another foot or so away from the coach.

I bought mine on sale a little over 3 years ago for right at $100. The 3M tape has held up flawlessly - no holes in my RV.

I used a short piece of metal flex exhaust hose from a local shop. Slip over the exhaust pipe just to get the exhaust away from under the slide out. Used a short piece of electrical pipe from Lowes also. Longer lengths on Amazon just for the description:

You can buy suction cups that eliminate drilling holes in your RV.

Camco Gen-Turi Generator Exhaust System

Camco Gen-Turi Generator Exhaust System.
Works fine on our Axis 25.2
About $140 total from Walmart.
Comes complete with a set of 2 suction cups and 2 bungies to attach ... no drilling at all.
Bought the extra 18 inch extension.
Gen-Turi also sell sets extra sets of suction cups / bungies so you can use extra holding if needed.
Doesn't reduce noise generator much but does send exhaust about 2 ft above the roof.
We're happy with it.
Best Regards, James

We have a 2015 28Z and the generator is beside the slide. We put the slide out and then attach it.

We have the slap reminders on the steering wheel to remind us to remove it.

Wink Camco Gen-turi exhaust extension system

I also use a Camco Gen-turi exhaust extension system for times when we need to run the generator for long periods, like over night. The included rubber supports and the suction cups work fine. https://www.thorforums.com/forums/im...s/sk/thumb.gif

Generator Exhaust hanger bracket broken.
Has anyone experienced this issue with the Generator Exhaust hangar bracket broken. I noticed the exhaust pipe sticking out the back of my THOR 30.4 was loose. I looked underneath and found the bracket had shredded. I then found the isolator springs were out of there housing, causing the entire exhaust of the ONAN generator to shake. I see no damage to the exhaust tail pipe, like someone backing up the RV into something.

I am going to make a warranty claim. Pictures added.

Thanks
tom

Short piece of EMT (electrical Metallic tubing) from Lowes did the trick. Just slip it over the pipe and get it 2-4 feet away from the MH. Not much needed.

On the noise... install some DynaMax around the area of the genset (not on the genset). Reduces the noise getting into the MH and the noise that escapes from the compartment.

duct tape the sewer line? Boondocking, right? If so my guess is the exhaust temp is low enough by the time it reaches the end of the pipe to be able to use something like an old vacuum cleaner hose. If you want to spend more money try https://www.ducting.com

thanks, I was able to dis assemble the exhaust tube, from the ONAN generator. I re seated all the springs supporting the unit to the base. I added a piece of safety wire around each spring to the base to ensure during the next rough ride, the springs do not jump the mount. I will install a new hanger to the RV and ensure the exhaust tube is not preloaded.
