I Need Comfort

Hi all,

I have a Freedom Elite 28H. I need to get rid of the jackknife. It's 69 inches wide. I don't need a bed. I'm looking for some thing comfortable just to sit on. The jackknife is terrible. Also I will be replacing my mattress.

If anyone has any suggestions I would like to hear about your upgrades. Our floor plan is just like the Fourwinds 28Z.

Thanks for your help.

Look at Shop4Seats.com for some ideas to replace the couch.

Yeah I have been all over the internet. If someone bought a specific brand of furniture and a mattress that is absolutely comfortable please let me know. Not quite sure what is good
And what isn't.

We really love our Recpro reclining love seats. Aster 4 years they are still working well. As for a new mattress, I suggest you have one made for your mattress factory. There is usually one or two located near major cities. We need a light, short queen no more than 8 inches thick. It had to be light as all the coach's electrics are under the bed and only accessible with the mattress removed. It had to be no more than 8 inches this because the DW is height challenged. <https://www.cantwellmattress.com/mattress/custom>

Check Lippert as they have the Seismic series with heat, vibe and power recliner. Very comfortable.

If you can get any from anywhere. Manufacturer's are taking all the production that the suppliers can get.

We got a foldable/flip mattress from https://www.mattressinsider.com/cust...attresses.html. Absolutely fantastic service and the mattress is perfect for us.

We don’t have the same RV but we replaced our 69” sofa with 2 Thomas Payne recliners. We’ve had them less than a year so can’t speak to durability but they are very comfortable. We replaced our mattress with a Zinus Gel-Infused Memory foam mattress purchased they Amazon. If u need a short Queen they have them.

Thanks. I have seen the same thing with the mattress and Thomas Payne. I been looking at Lambright Comfort Chairs. They are expensive though.

Hey Rich~
Just curious if you have had any luck. We have a 26B and wanting some comfort as well! We have no slides and it appears that recliners would be too deep to replace our jacknife sofa. We considered swapping the dinette for recliners but know we would have to deal with at the very least a heat duct and misc wiring. Thanks for any info.

Hey Crimedog

We have not done anything yet. We have been looking at some love seat recliners. We do have a slide but it only gives me 17 more inches when open. They are deeper plus it needs to be 3.5 inches from the wall. I would be happy to find a love seat that is not a recliner or turns into a bed. Max 68 inches wide. I would hate to pay for a recliner and bed.

We have the same issue with the chateau 31w. We have a temperpedic mattress, but can't find anything to replace the sofa.wr have to be able to get it in the door without taking it all apart too.

I have the 28z. We added a 3” memory foam topper to our mattress and that made it very comfortable at a very reasonable price. Sleep number also makes mattresses for motor homes. We have our sleep number bed at home for 24 yrs and love it but they are pricey. We use our Jack knife sofa for our dogs to lay on so can’t help you out there. Good Luck.

We dumped our old sofa for a 70inch loveseat double recliner. It must be a WALL HUGGER to work.

Our German Shepherd claimed our jack knife on the first trip out.
