Sequence 20L Swivel Seats very diffiecult to rotate

One of the first things I found on my new Sequence was that the swivel seats were extremely hard to turn. I struggle and struggled, but found after much effort they just did not get better with copious amounts of lubrication. I decided to dis-assemble and see what the problem was. So I found that the swivels and base are after market parts made by Lippert Components and not OEM from Dodge. The swivel design has a number of issues and there is manufacturing issues that also contribute to the swivel being difficult to operate. There is no part number for the seat and when I called Lippert they indicated they could not provide any support. I did more research on the Lippert site and they have nothing on a swivel seat like the one I have. I did find a Technical Service Bulletin from 2019 that identifies a different swivel seat they made that must be replaced due to insufficient welds. I cannot find anything on my particular swivel seat, but now I am a little nervous about the mechanical safety of the seat I have. Will investigate further and report. Has any one else had similar issues and how are your seats working for you?

Ask Thor about swivel seats?

I have asked Thor and the support person could not find anything about the seats. He was going to do more research and see if he can find details on my particular seats to send me.

One side note I was able to figure out how to substantially improve ability to swivel the seats and have solved the initial issue I was working on.

The brute force approach for swiveling the seats

This technique works
1) passenger door opened
2) press the lever to release seat
3) grab the back of the seat with your left arm
4) push with your right shoulder as if you're protecting your quarterback
5) curse a little bit - this helps a lot
6) keep on pushing
7) once it moves an inch or two -
8) go on the inside and reverse the above procedure until it moves 180 degrees
9) sit in the seat now facing backwards and take a nap
