Indoor/outdoor thermometer
We like to know the outdoor temps occasionally, so ordered this unit from Amazon. Anyone have a good way to stash the outdoor monitor? Not looking for a fixed installation, just a pouch or small basket or whatever, to stick it in while we're camped. Needs to be approx. 3" wide by 3" high by 1" deep.

That looks like a good unit. I bought the AccuTemp and mounted the sensor (on a screw? velcro? can't remember) in a bin at the back. It's been on the original battery for over a year. Love it!

I mount mine on a suction hook, just outside the door, while we are stationary.

I have a similar unit and place it on the inside arm of the canopy with Velcro. Placing it right next to the body of the coach or in a compartment will not give you accurate temps as the inside temps will bleed through the walls. My Velcro strip is about 2 feet away from the outside coach wall, on the inside of the arm, out of the direct sun. Gives perfect readings based on secondary sources...news and phone apps, etc.

Water compartment since it’s marginal temps mid-Atlantic.

We use the plain old double suction cup temp/humidity stuck to the outside of the window on the slide.. no electrical or batteries needed...Think I paid $7/8 bucks for it ...several years & it hasn't fell off yet

We used 3M automotive tape to attach it to the bottom of the passenger side mirror.

Works fine most of the day and all night .

Do you think the base unit could be mounted underneath the cab overhang (in front and above the windshield) on a Class C Four Winds? This would keep it out of the weather.......
TIA

I mounted our sensor on the narrow wall beside the cab door of our class C. It's up high near the cabover.

On the underside of the top step with Velcro. When the steps are retracted, it is protected from road grime by the bottom step. The only downside, true about most locations, is direct sunlight shining on the step will make it read high.

I used heavy duty 3M double sided mounting tape and stuck the sensor to the frame by the back wall. Works well when the back is facing north so no heat from the sun. It's been there for years. Needed to remount it when I changed the batteries that's all.

I glued a magnet on mine, so I can put it on any metal piece out of the sun.

Hi Chief,
I did the same as Gritz with velcro. Placed it directly under the rear portion of the awning. Seems to work.

If it's anywhere near an appliance (propane tank will get cold when you're using gas) you will not get accurate readings. It needs to be in the open air, surrounded by open air, out of the sun an away from anything that has variable temperature ranges.
