Install 12 Volt Radiator Fan?

Has anyone added this to their unit? I was at my daughters tennis tourney today 98 degrees out. Took my 87 year old father, ran coach air then chassis air while parked.
Being parked 3hrs dash air somewhat cool, when I drive it is cold. Would this fan boost coolness while parked? Could also be radiator rock protection for radiators??? Has anyone installed for this reason? Any thoughts? Thank you!!Attachment 10805Attachment 10806

Short answer, yes, it will help. I have an electric cooling fan on my drag/show truck. If not traveling down the highway I have to be sure the fan is on.
On the other hand, I suspect the manual clutch fan may not be working correctly. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...2BSuper%2BDuty

Something else to consider is the rpms of your AC compressor. At idle, even with good air movement across the radiator, you need rpms for the compressor.

Fan

I have not studied this particular issue nor have I done any tests but I don't think that the fan would take care of the problem. To me, it seems that there is just too much space and heat between the cockpit air vents and the a/C box. You would almost need one of those big box shop air conditioning units sitting in front of your grill to deal with all of that hot air. Personally, I wouldn't waste the time and money with your project that will also pull quite a few amps from the system when it is on. Oh yes, if you are worried about radiator protection, read the thread on this topic to see what several of us have done. I used a large piece of expanded aluminum and painted it black. I have not noticed that I have stopped any stones but I killed an entire squadron of grasshoppers when they wanted to fly into my radiator.

Great feedback!! I'm glad I asked before taking on another project.
