Any din radio is any din radio.
No mounting kit is needed if you already have a din type radio.
There are head units the same size at half that price with android 9.
8.1 is a couple of versions ago and might not run some apps you might want.
Typically, radio heads will not upgrade to new versions.

is that just an android thing? i use an iphone...

The radio is an actual free standing android device itself.
It doesn't know about the phone you use.
Mine collects it's wifi from my myfi Verizon router.

When you say "half that price with android 9", I pay attention.

I have a Pioneer Factory installed by Winnebago on 29VE but it ain't all that (the screen is about 6" something?) I love Android anything because free is me When my factory warranty is up Dec 2020, the radio is the 1st thing on my list to replace. I have rear cameras and side cameras to take into account. I don't care for Navigation as long as I can have Waze or Google Maps.

If anyone has a recommended model number and good price, I can start to research to buy. I will have to pay someone to install, but I want to know what I want for them to install versus them try to sell me what they have.

For OP, great topic, very glad you got it working.

I bought it based an older model eonon I have that has taken ssoooo much off road abuse and dirt and does not fail. It's a very complicated 8 inch screen. Hidden screen slides out, rotates 90° then flips up 100° and yet won't fail.

The link. Above is my 10" screen.
Runs all of My apps except. Echo/Alexa.
We have a Puck to make up for it.
It might be a licensing issue.....
We have waze, Google maps, nextexit, windy, RadarNow, Sygic maps(highly recommended. Has alarms for everything from. Antique stores to hospitals which tell you when you're within a set circle of one. Maybe 250 alarms available.

These all run at the same time. Android 9 allows for split screen use.

I can't remember the name of the 12 and 14 inch screens.
There's a kid on youtube named Nguyen who does good reviews.

Palazzo recommendations?

I need to replace this radio and the whole camera system. It’s in a 2014 Palazzo. Needs to have all the features and functions of this one. Anyone happy with what they have and would recommend it? Thanks

Last week I had a Pioneer AVH-2550NEX installed by Best Buy. I would have had it done earlier but they just re-started doing installations. The Axxera I had crapped out. I kept the same rear camera and the picture is much better with the Pioneer!

The installer put in a kit with new trim and it sits flush, just like the Axxera!

Pictures might help to confirm... Not much difference in a 1/4 of an inch.

I kind of feel your pain though, I bought a new pool light from Pentair to replace one that was 20 years old. I never could get it to mount flush. They kept telling me i needed an authorized dealer to install. Then one day about 3 months later I happened to learn on light they sell a bracket that I must use to get it to mount flush. But to install the bracket I would have to pull the wiring completely and insert the electrical through the o ring bracket I am living with it But I at least know why it is not perfectly flush

Everybody seems to hate the Axerra. I hate mine, too, but I've been able to live with it because I don't ask it to do much.
There is one issue that could cause me to swap it out.

If a BlueTooth music source is connected, a phone can't be connected with BT.
If a phone is connected with BT, no BT music source can be connected.
One BT at a time. To connect something with BT, the previous BT device must be powered off or unpaired first.

Does anybody know whether these new Android head units have the same limitation?

Don't know the answer on the BT conflict. I haven't taken the RV out since the new receiver installation since I am waiting on my recovered dinette cushions to be completed (due to delamination of bad material). My copilot is in charge of BT the Bose Speaker after I set up my Android...I'll have to report back on that one...

I contacted Axerra. They don't consider the BT issue to be a "conflict". To them, it is by design. Their suggestion was to bring in a wired audio source through the rear inputs. Then the AV-In will work simultaneous with the phone BT.

I might do that. Or, I might toss the Axxera into a dumpster and get something else.

Searching EBay for 10" or 10.1" and Android 9.1 only,
I'm seeing prices from $84 to $232
One was Android 10.

On Amazon, they're $226 and up.

I've never heard of these companies: Eincar, Haitu, Unitopsci, Podofo, Woerman, Camecho, Linkswell, Pumpkin, Lexxson, Yody, Hikity, Atoto, Vanku, and of course, NoName. I do know Jensen.

I know I want 10" or 10.1", Android 9.1 or 10, and back-up cam input.

What other features should I be looking for?
Nav might be nice, even though both of our Samsung phones work well.
Does 8 core make any diff?
My biggest concern is that it won't look right in the tan dash of the E450.

Does anybody have one installed that they really like?

There are pictures of my 10.1" screen in my signature thread and I'll try to post a pic here later for you.
Mine is as stated above, eonon brand.
The kid named Nguyen did lots of videos on lots of 10 inch screen radios.

Nav is nice but unneeded if you have android apps installed which do offline maps.
I suggest Sygic truck map.
