Installing a hardwired Surge Protector

The portable surge protectors are the easy way to go but not practical. The type that attach to the site pedestal would be out in the rain and could be stolen if not locked.

Has anyone installed a surge protector and electric monitor inside their coach. I have a 2022 Thor Delano 24RW. I think that it will be installed next to the main panel . Thanks .

I installed a Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C with remote monitoring/bypass in my MH between the ATS and the power center.

That's is where I put the 50HW in my coach even if Progressive recommends it to be installed before the ATS.

Progressive Industries provides instructions for both before and after the transfer switch installations.

I opted to install it after the transfer switch in case of a power surge from the generator. They specifically mention this in the install instructions.

From my perspective…. replacing a transfer switch is easier and less expensive than an A/C or fridge.
