Installing JVC kwz 1000 in ACE ....

This 10” screen unit has four camera RCA inputs....do I simply bypass the multiplex box (w 3 inputs, sides and rear camera) that has 1 RCA out....this takes multiplex box out of the circuit....so the cameras feed directly into the receiver unit...right?……. This said, what powers the cameras?….

Removing the multiplexor box presents two problems you need to resolve that were solved by the multiplexor besides camera switching:

Powering the cameras.

Converting from the 5 pin camera cable connectors to a simple RCA video connector.

Rear View Safety has the adapters and there are threads on this forum that describe the correct adapters and pin-outs.

thanks.... 16ACE27.... I think I figured it out. I am ordering three cables ....5 Pin DIN (male) to RCA from Rear View camera..... the three new cables will be rerouted to the receiver unit vs. going through the multiplex box....the multiplex box remains a power source for the cameras, but the 'video feed' goes directly to the monitor/receiver vs via the multiplex.... I'm pretty certain this would work...btw the one person I talked to at JVC was not very helpful.... I do appreciate yours!

The JVC worked out well....one tradeoff is that although the 3 cameras work, they no longer are tied to the turn signals....so you must do it manually. We would just use the back camera....and rarely used the right or left cameras....

In hindsight I'm not sure if I'd spend $1000 on such a unit...my guess is there are some truly plug and play models now available in the $400 range....(these with the big screen
