Insulating Front Cap Thor Ace 30.1

I have searched and cannot find any good threads on doing this. I looked at the cap from inside and see a panel on each end to access the bed raising mechanics. It looks like I can cut some pieces of insulation and work them in front each side. Has anyone done this?
It has to generate a lot of heat and cold as the fiberglass is thin.
This would have been very easy to do at the factory and very little expense if it doesn't cause any issues with condensation.

I used quilt batting that can be purchased at your local fabric store. It insulates well, and you don't have to worry about getting fiberglass insulation particles in your coach. Access through the removable panels on each side. Hope this helps, Gary D., Gulfport MS

Sounds like a great idea. It would have to make a good improvement.
Any issues with condensation?

We have the same issue with our 30.2. I haven't been able to convince anyone in our household to crawl up into the bunk and see what might need to be done to make it quieter. If someone could shoot a video on what they did and show how they did it that would be helpful.

I was just wandering around Lowes looking at fiberglass. It would be a pain to get inside without getting all over.
Any thoughts on using Bubblewrap?

I went back to Lowes and bought some Reflectix insulation roll.
It was enough to cut 3 pieces to go across the front cap 3 times.
First thing I did was fish a string from one side to the other making a loop. I took each piece and rolled it up tight and stood it up in the corner. I then taped the string to the edge of the roll and pulled each one all the way across. The first piece I pulled up on top of the cabinet, one I pulled down below and folded it the best I could to cover the bottom and the other one covered the front. Each one lapped over the other. I believe I got it covered pretty good. There is enough room to do a couple more layers and I may add at least one more. I left my string in just in case. Not sure on the R value of this stuff as it depends on the application. It has to make some difference.
Not bad. Nice comfortable bed to work off of.

I will say again, Thor could spray the whole cap with spray foam very easily before installing it like we do fish boxes in boats. Of course there could be some reason for not doing it.
I mean the rest of the roof has foam sandwiched between the framing system!

I've been looking for some type of insulating material to finish the space left from my original project. I had considered bubble wrap and actually bought some.
My friend that install kitchens and bathrooms called to see if I could help him install a kitchen today. I met him on the job site and the general contractor was there unloading some engineered flooring that was wrapped in styrofoam. There was piles of it. Looking at it I figured it would make a good material to fill in the space. Brought it home and put it in the space using a short piece of pvc pipe. I thought I had way too much but was able to get it all in and actually have some room left for more. Best thing, it was free. I actually looked at this stuff at Walmart but it was very expensive. My friends cabinets come wrapped in the same stuff but thicker so will be getting some more from him.

If your looking for something less itchy and more user friendly you can try Denim insulation.

I'm glad this thread was started I pulled one side of the panels down a couple days ago and looked to see what could be stuffed up there. I can't believe they put nothing up there for insulation! I'm going by Home Depot this weekend and I'll look at the Denim Insulation. Looks promising.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!
