Ran the display meter cable behind the fuse/breaker box and up just above. Cant see the cable which is nice

Jerry,
I see from your pictures that Thor installed your inverter under the bed with the rest of the electrical stuff. I'm wondering if the fan noise is noticeable at night?

They installed mine in the top of a basement bin blocking the pass-through storage. I'm considering moving it under the bed but I have two concerns:
1) noise - we have a residential fridge so the inverter is always on when not connected to shore power or generator.
2) heat - the under the bed location is a fairly small enclosed area. I'm worried there might be alot of heat buildup. On the other hand, the basement gets pretty hot during the summer too.

Thanks.

I am looking to replace my converter/charger this spring. Researching my options right now. The Wfco takes forever to charge my batteries and never seems to fully top them off. Plus I've read a ton of negative articles about them.

Did you end up replacing your's? if so, what did you get?

Cheers.

Factory converters are subpar, they do charge the battery but not at the ideal rate. At least the cheap units they put in the rv. You can buy much better converters. Mine is still installed but I have it turned off. I use a Xantrex unit that is a charger/inverter. It constantly samples the battery and charges in steps and properly float charges the battery. They are expensive though but if you have more than one battery its much better to use a better unit.

RE: Progressive Industries. I purchased my unit back in 2002, a 50 amp with remote display like Jerry has. It has saved me multiple times from faulty grounds and reverse polarity. Most importantly it saved our unit back in 2009 when we had a waterline fail and flooded our unit, soon as the water found electric in the coach the EMS shut the power down and in the process it was sacrificed. I contacted Progressive Industries to ask if it could be repaired, they told me to return it and they would replace it. In fact they did replace it despite the fact at this point it was 7 years old. That is customer service that cant be beat and the best money I have ever spent to protect my coach. I HIGHLY recommend this company. To find someone that will do that in the rv industry is rare and the only other I have ever had this experience with is Fantastic Fan.

Norm,
It does make noise but it has never bothered me. I hear it the most when plugged in at the house and working in the mh. When camping i dont think i ever hear it. Maybe theres more noise at the campground or the wife and dog are making nore noise idk. It has never bothered me

Call me overprotective but in addition to the hardwired Progressive Industries I also use the portable one so I know the status of the pedestal before plugging in the coach.

2018 Thor Windsport 29M USB Charging Station

Has anyone with a Windsport 29M had issues with the USB Charging station in the bedroom?

Ours does not work at all and wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was done to address it.

Thanks

It's wired backwards. Common Thor problem. Take it off and swap the + and - leads.

The purpose of the Progressive Ind unit is to not let the power into the coach so when you plug it in it goes no farther than the PI unit till it passes approval of it. Then if all is ok it allows the electricity to the coach otherwise it stops at the unit.

Ok, I will check tonight.

I took the cover over and saw that the wires were connected but didn't think they might be wired backwards. What colors from the power source should be connected to the USB plug receptacle?

Hi Dino,

I first bought the Dominator and had a lot of trouble routing the hose down through the opening in the bottom of the compartment after connecting to the outlet. I was unable to close the compartment door because the hose protruded out too far.

I ended up replacing the Dominator with the Viper that is flexible enough and I was able to feed it through the opening and close the compartment door.

Make it a great week and take care!!

Hi Dino, our 2018 Windsport 29M has the light cabinet woodwork and our backsplash looks the same as yours
