You seem to be from your posts but I have noticed in some of the pics posted that the leg-rest part of the chair seems a little thin and "flimsy". Do you have any comments/concerns after seeing and working with these chairs directly? I'm 90% sure I will buy these chairs, just need a little advice before I go that last 10%. Thx so much for the help guys.

Roadmaster tow bar and base plate install
A couple of months ago I purchased and installed the Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar, baseplate and Invisibrake Supplemental Braking System on our 2017 Thor Windsport 29M (tow bar) and our 2011 Ford Escape (base plate and braking system). The installation was hard but doable! This past Easter weekend was the first long distance test of the towing system and I am quite impressed. There are several YouTube videos and the tow bar, base plate and braking system so i will not bore you with the details but I will say the lighted tow bar is the S#%t!!!!

Jerry, I just started installing a RecPro recliner in my ACE 30.1. Found this fine bit of Thor craftsmanship where they “trimmed” the slide floor to clear the facia. Notice the “straight” cut and unfinished edge..and the 1” gap. Guess they figured the couch would cover it. I think the most precise wood working tool they have is a saws all.
So I’m going to be doing much the same thing you did. I’ve got to add a 2x2 to the face of the slide, which will then get faced with a hardwood strip. The notch will get hardwood too. Then I can bolt down the sections.

Mine was kind of like that also
Just a suggestion. I see in your pic the front rubber molding is still in place. Are you going to remove it???.
If you do the hardwood will line up nice

Rubber strip is gone. Ended up with 1x3 facing but DW is still working on how she wants to finish it. She’s mixing stain concoctions but I bet we wind up with paint.

I think the paint came out good on mine. Home depot did a good job of matching the cabinet door paint

Hi Jerry,
I really like your thread here...lots of good ideas. Some I have completed before I saw your thread, and some I have done as a result of reading your thread. Did the CHF on the front bar. Well worth the time and minor effort!
I saw one picture in your thread that brings up a question. I see a dog sleeping basket in the passenger section of the cab, and it appears to be slid all the way up against the air return vent. Doesn't this create a problem for your air flow in the unit? Or do you have some method of preventing the basked from actually covering the return vent, and I just can't see it in the picture?

Drawer under dinette seat
Made a 20" x 16 1/2" drawer under the dinette seat, figured it was a lot of wasted space that could be better put to use and without having to lift the seat cushions.
The padded end panel on the seat is just held on by 4 screws and the opening for the drawer is already there, just had to build the drawer and build out the inside of the space under the seat to accept the full extension slides.

Love it...I've been thinking about trying the same idea.
Any problem with using the seat belts, now that the drawer is there?

The seat belts work fine, they are between the wall and the horizontal piece of wood that I used to build out for the drawer slide.

THe dog bed gets moved all the time. Even sitting in front of the return air I havent noticed a problem.
If you have any pics of your mods feel free to post them here.

Brake controller brand/model advice
Located my brake controller harness. It was behind the lower floor shroud that covers the steering column shaft. Now I am open to suggestions for a brake controller brand. I have had good luck with Tekonsha. Bad luck with Hopkins. How about Curt? What fuse/breaker protects the electric brakes on the Windsport/Hurricane? Thanks

We took a 3 hour drive up north to the Buellton/Solvang area. We are staying at Flying Flags campground. More about the trip later when we get home.
This was the first real drive after installing the front sumo springs.
The con is the ride is noticeably rougher. We now feel every bump in the road and Ca roads have lots of bumps. Its not bad enough to remove the sumos but we know its there
The pros are way less sway on driveways and turns and what little the semis pushed us around is now gone. We hit some very strong winds that pushed us around but i know its much better that without the sumo.
So overall im happy with and it was worth doing.
