Lower Storage Leak

Another Thor special feature. Was driving in the rain the other day, going to and from an alignment appointment (it was not out all that much). Started to load up for a weekend camping run and two of the lower storage compartments had standing water in them. So after poking around found that where they installed the lights, used LONG screws that protrude into the rear wheel wells with little to no sealant to keep water out. So a little silicone and think it's solved. If you have had wetness in the same areas, I recommend having a look.

Thank care and thanks again for all the great info.

Red

BTW. Our unit handled noticeably better after the alignment and front CHF. We get our Safety Plus staring dampener installed today. Am looking forward to seeing further handling improvement.

Outdoor Sink

Supposed to be the last weekend that it snows in Buffalo NY, (yes it will be May next week-lol) so I thought I'd get the motorhome out of storage.

Brought out the motorhome and the steps are not coming down and the battery cutoff switch won't turn anything off-called the dealer and they said to bring it in next week.

When I was dewinterizing the motorhome and noticed that the outdoor sink has very little pressure when the outdoor faucets are turned on. I might of only used them once last year so I am not really sure how they operate. This happens both when using the pump or connected to city water. Am I missing something here or do I just need to add this to the dealer list?

I would check the aerator at the outside faucet, first. There are many filters and screens in the cold water supply that could effect water flow. I found drill shavings in the water tank outlet screen and PEX scrapings in each faucet's aerators.

Retracable step fuse location...

Before I go randomly searching the motorhome, does anyone happen to know the location of the fuse for the retractable step on a Hurricane 29m (ours is 2018 but probable similar to older models as well).
Thanks

Washed and waxed the mh yesterday. Lots of bugs on the windshield after the trip home from the lake

I then checked all the screws on the slide. Found a couple loose ones holding the rails on.

Checked the ones under the slide and 6 were broken off from rust.

So i have a new project to do when i get back from my cruise in a month. Replace all the screws under the slide with stainless steel. The original screws are only 3/4" and go into wood. Im hoping to find the 1-1/2" square metal tubing that makes up the slide framing. If i find it ill put in longer self tapping scews to catch the tubing

Also the new tv bracket worked out great. Just have to remember to lock it before hitting the road. Yes i forgot to but saw it move and stopped. Thankfully its strong

Jerry, Thor CS can supply the pdf for your slide-out floor framing.

It looks like the magnet to a childproof drawer/cabinet latch, or one of those hidden storage boxes like people keep guns in.

I think I might order one of these for the MH and install it - after I return from my next trip. I have an engineer friend who I can probably get to read the manual to me while I install it.

Finally got some time off work with good weather, so the mods have begun...

Completed:
Snap Pads - used Dawn Blue around the edge & they slipped right on

Carpet in the cockpit- cut a 5x8 remnant down to 4x8 & sealed around
edges with double faced carpet tape from Lowes
*Still have rubber mats for driver/passenger, but wanted carpet too

Latex Mattress Topper- 2" Firm, pricey, but worth it
I didn't ask them to cut it down, so I had to use some sharp scissors but
it went OK (we bought ours from Pure Green online)
https://sleeponlatex.com/products/na...attress-topper

CHF - front & rear...really handles much better

Side Table - picked this up at Walmart for $6 !
I was starting to make a wooden one, but this was waaay cheaper
This folds up quickly for easy storage between trips
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Folding-T...resso/48173491

Dog Fence - ordered 24 panels & DW made PVC guards for under rig
She used 3/4" PVC with plastic netting & zip ties/velcro
https://www.chewy.com/iris-8-panels-...c-pen/dp/50402

picture is from our first ever trip 2 weeks ago- we used the zig-zag method,
because we didn't take enough metal poles to make it sturdy enough in
case any pups jump up & put their paws on it- will be adding more 3/8"
metal posts for the next trip

In Progress-
Starting on my hard-wired Progress Industries Surge protector

Coming Soon -
Rear Trac bar (Brazel's, Ultra Trac)- just ordered, should come next week
It's been on back order for over a month, but we called & the new
shipment is due in. They are actually having it shipped to me from the
manufacturer, so it should save a few days.

Want to do the mod UPNYFolks did to make the drawer under the dinette
seat

I had wanted a drink holder that I could easily reach, but my DW didn't want me to drill holes in the side of the MH. I bought the collapsible and adjustable drink holder and attached it to a piece of wood, then attached a J Hooks to it. Now I just hang it on the track of the window and can move it back and forth as I want it or take it off.
