You will like the second a/c for sure. When I ordered my 31S it came in without the second a/c as ordered. They offered me all kinds of deals to take the coach without the second a/c but I stuck to my guns and I am glad I did. Living in Florida I am glad to have the second a/c.

Jerry's Hurricane mods

Just picked up this fan from Costco for $39. Really powerful and quiet 40” tall with remote.
I highly recommend it

Hardest part is done.

How are you running the wire from the cabinet to the vent opening?

Theres a track in the ceiling. I'll drill a hole inside the cabinet over the bed and feed it in the track to the vent. Or go from the vent to the cabinet. The hardest part, which is all we did, was feeding a wire from the shirt cabinet down the bathroom wall. From there it will go under the bed, through the floor with all the other wires, then to a 20 amp plug.

We bought that fan the first week after buying the mh. A/C on and point the van to the bedroom moves lots of air there, But Id rather have the second a/c

My coach has a chase from the bedroom vent down to the water heater wiring which also supplies the outside kitchen. There was a trio of 14 ga wires in the chase that run around to the power center under the bed but are taped off there. I used the chase and old wires to pull a trio of 12 ga wires following the same path. I had Iron Horse RV put a Coleman Mach 10 in the roof and wire it up.

Hello,

I've been wanting to provide another heads up for an electrical issue we resolved. Our GFCI circuit went dead (well not really dead, just low enough that nothing would work). After checking every outlet we determined that something was going on in the rats nest of wires under the bed. It's good we decided to pull and check under the fuse box cover. One of the wires was loose from the bus-bar and a little chard. Quick fix after turning all power off. Checked every other connection in the box and found over half loose. Please take a few minutes to power down your unit and check the integrity of ALL connections in your fuse box. Save yourself a powerless trip and fire hazard. Also recommend looking at EVERY 110v connection you can get your hands on. We have and found loose and miss-wiring in other locations (charging station and water heater to name a couple more).

Be safe out there and enjoy wondering.

Red, glad you found that Before you possibly had a fire. A few months ago we had a poor connection on our water heater, connection was charred and smoking, located behind a panel under the sink. I had checked all my connections under the bed when I installed our Progressive surge protector, nothing loose but glad I checked.

I just got to replace my original house batteries. Replaced group 27 with group 29 deep cell marine batteries from Samsclub. They barely fit.

Prior to our first trip this year the house batteries were completely drained, and would not initially charge, so I made a panic run to Sams and bought replacements. Sometime along the trip there and back, the batteries started charging. Since I did not have a nice block of time or location I decided to do the replacement later. Hopefully these are more robust than the originals, but we do not rely heavily on them since we are rarely in a place without electricity or the ability to run the generator. Month or two long storage has been my only issue with the original house batteries.

I bought two 29’s from Walmart almost three years ago and replaced the junk WFCO converter/charger at the same time. We have donee quite a bit of dry camping and run them down to below 12v numerous times and they are still running strong. The do “just fit” in the Axis too.

Hi SuperD,

We checked the water heater and it was fine. I saw your earlier post and thank you for it. We have see quite a few of the issues noted within the forum but had not seen the bus-bar in the fuse-box. Just take the front cover off and you'll see them.

Happy Camping

Finally got around to the A/C mod, adding a new vent to the underside of the unit. Wish I had done this sooner. What a difference!!!

Yes I know, I need to clean the intake vents. At least the filters are clean!

It does make an incredible difference, both in initially cooling the RV down and keeping it cool.

Hi Dino - Could you repost the mod for the rear view safety monitor? I find that the little screen that displays the cameras are almost useless because you have to take your eyes off the road and the screen is so small. BTW - I love reading this thread. I have been following you and Jerry since we got our ACE and has been very helpful! Thanks again!
