Heres a pic of the doghouse. Surprisingly i fit in the engine bay and put the hoodliner under the passenger floor. Maria should be happy with it.

Jerry,
I just saw a new Coleman Mach 3 in a Food Truck and it looks like the plastic register trim has been improved to allow more airflow than the models in our Coaches.

I put the additional vent on my shroud today and I adjusted and secured my air baffle last week. I am mightily impressed with how much difference these two simple and cheap changes have made. Heading over to Gettysburg this week and I’ll see if it’s enough to skip the second air conditioner. It’s not Arizona in August but I hope I’m able to skip or delay this purchase. I’ve got better places to spend that money right now - like getting my toad set up.

New tow vehicle!!
Angie and I pulled the trigger and purchased a new tow car this afternoon! She is a 2016 Jeep Compass High Altitude SUV and her name is "Stormy" (we kept the original name on our first tow car). Stormy is another FWD vehicle so will are still in the market for a tow dolly!!

Looks good!!! I may have to add insulation under the floor like you did, the floor does get pretty warm.

Good looking, that should make a Great toad!!! Towing with a dolly is not anywhere near as difficult as some say, did it for several years and never had a problem. The ramps on both of my dollies rattled but a couple of bungee cords fixed that.

Congrats!! We tow a 2017 Jeep Cherokee FWD on a dolly and it is pretty painless. Our Cherokee is even the same color as your Compass. Welcome to the Jeep family!

Jerry's Hurricane mods
We got a MasterTow with surge brakes. We got it for just under $1300 new and we like that it has a swivel pan and permanent ramps. Setup is simple (1 pin removed to lower the ramps, drive up, ramps tip back forward, secure with pin and cotter pin, straps on wheels, strap down steering wheel, make sure parking brake is off, test roll...) It stores under the rear of the motorhome in most locations. Can be moved by hand (although sometimes not easily enough!) We have towed two different FWD Jeeps with it. Surge brakes mean nothing to hook up to a brake controller. Don't really know it is behind us except we see it in the backup camera. Does well on long downhill grades too.

Our first Class A , and first attempt to load our 2015 Ford Edge, on our preowned Acme EzTow .
It's a tight fit maybe 1 1/2-2 inches clearance on each side, and no place under the Edge to connect the tow dolly safety chains. We decided my wife would just drive it this time. I have back issues, and by the time I got it loaded and crawled around looking for a place to attach the safety chains, then unloaded,I was hurting. I'm hardheaded and though I'd be ok once I got on the road, but I had to turn around and come back home after only 50-60 really Painful miles, and cancel our first Beach trip in our Class A.
Anyone us a tow dolly, without the chains from car, to the dolly ?

Hook the safety chains to the suspension arms. On both our Ford's I just wrap the chains around the lower arm. Even Acme's instructions say put the chains on the suspension members.

I started to do that but the lower arms look to be Aluminum, and so flimsy looking, they look like they would snap at the least bit of side force ! So not sure it would keep the car on the dolly, should the straps fail. Maybe I'm just over thinking it.

For what its worth - when we had our Mini and dolly towed it, there was no practical place to hook up safety chains. I ended up with a bit of kludge job using a Blue Ox safety cable and a short towing strap to secure each front wheel to the dolly. The safety cable threaded through the wheel (barely, ours had fairly small gaps between spokes). I then wrapped the tow strap. around the dolly frame and secured both ends of the strap and the cable with safety chain quick link.
This seemed to be as secure as it was going to get, but if Mini decided to separate from the dolly, it might end up being a major front end suspension rebuild. We checked the wheel straps a lot.

I'm looking at getting the hooks that are used by car haulers to tie down the new cars on the trailer. They fit in holes in the frame and just slip in and turn in holes in the frame.

I looked into that for the Mini and found that the hold down hooks were removed by the dealer during their delivery prep and replaced with rather hard to remove plugs. Plus they were located along the side rails and not in practical location for dolly safety chains. Plus it would be about $200 to get replacement hooks that I would have to remove every time I wanted to drive the car.
Hope you have better luck. I know a lot of other cars have permanent hold down hooks located at the front and rear. BWM engineers seem to be far too clever for themselves. This wasn't the first "advanced engineering feature" that I could have done without.
