Fairly easy job but my back and neck have a hard time when i crawl under the mh. I have several herniated disk in my lower back and neck so i take my time. After doing jobs like this i hurt the rest of the night but feel fine in the morning

Right on SuperD...that'll work just fine!

Rerouted it to the outside cabinet behind the passenger side tire mounted it on a folding slid out tray works great. I can watch over antenna, park cable, and direct tv

I also lubed 8 of the 9 zerk fittings for the front end. I could not get to one of them. I maybe be able to if i turn the steering wheel. Ill check that out at another time. They all took grease!!!! So you guys may want to get them checked

Jerry, Excellent idea on booster placement! Are you planning on adding sensors on your Jeep, if so you should not have any problems with reception.

OK, weatherstrip should have done it (as long as the underground was clean enough) I wonder whether it would be easier to carry one of the split repair boots along. I must have been lucky, my Jeep never got a broken boot (but I don't do much stuff in brush, mostly on rock).
I'll have to check with my son to see, if we should carry one of those split boots with us in the Jeep when we go out.

So Maria and i spent the morning and early afternoon at Disneyland. Got home around 3pm.
The grease boot was bugging me all day. So i called my local Ford commercial truck dealer and he said bring it in. Dropped the mh off and part will be ordered and hopefully replaced tomorrom. All warranty

Jerry,
Thank you for starting this thread. I have been following it since August. I have a couple questions. Do u have any idea how the ball joint boot got ripped? Are you carrying a spare tire and rim with u?
Thanks
Shawn

Hi Shawn
I have no idea how the boot got ripped. Someone on IRV2 posted the same thing on his new mh. Hope its not a common problem. I dont think many people crawl under their mh so most wont find it
No i dont carry a spare. No room. Ill be calling for road side service if i ever get a flat tire. I watch tire pressure carefully so hopefully the tires will last to their time limit and not wear out

Once the weather around here is "crawl under a motorhome" friendly again, I will try to take some pictures of the factory installed carrier on my unit. I bet the belly of my motorhome is almost identical to the one of yours, and it should be rather easy to install such a carrier.
I, too, will use road side service for changing the tire, but I will not be at their whim and pay the same money for one of their tires that would buy several at my tire dealer.

I can give you some information for starters. The carrier/winch I had under my unit was a standard Ford pickup carrier that was modified to handle the larger motorhome tire. This carrier was rusted shut, and I could not lower the tire anymore. On iRV2 I found a company called TECA that makes custom carrier/winches. I contacted them and they designed/made a new carrier for me. The cost of the thing was $65 plus shipping. This is their contact info and the pictures show the kinds of carriers they make. I had to give them all the required measurements, and the carrier they made for me was definitely stronger than the original one and did fit perfectly. I have the one on the picture that has the red pins on it.
