I know this is an old post but where did you get the couch cover.

Dino,
I have the same rig as yours (2017 29M 50a). Just inspected exterior of junction box - ok, opened box to have a look - no signs of arcing or heat. Question - did you do the repair completely from under the MH or did you pull components out to install the butt connectors. Thx.

I had enough slack to pull the wires down to install the butt connectors.

Roof A/C Vent Modification
Finally got around to installing the JR Products vents I purchased last year. Used part# ACG25DPW-A that I ordered through Wal-mart. A 4 3/4 inch hole saw cut the opening. #8 x 5/8 inch screws attach the vent through pre-drilled screw holes.
Have to agree with the reports of others. This modification makes a remarkable improvement. Highly recommend it.

Thor 293, Refer to: AC Mod posted by VinceAndPam. Page 44. Post #879 04/04/2017. That is where I saw it first. I believe Halfprice and SuperD have posts about it too.

Glad you’re happy with the results! Easy to do and does make a difference. For those of you wondering what Shawn is talking about it’s the addition of a rotating vent to the inside AC cover to increase airflow.

We have two adjustable (opening) vents on our AC and they seem provide a lot of "wind" if we open them. However, the single AC in our 27K works very well and the vents aren't necessary. Perhaps the relatively low cubic footage and small windows make it easy to cool...and heat.

We have two ACs in our 29M, plenty of cooling in a short coach. One of the primary reason I installed the vents is the ability to better direct airflow where I want it, extra cooling was a secondary benefit. We normally shut of the front AC during the day to decrease noise in the living area, running the rear AC with the vent directed to the front keeps the living area cool without the noise. At night we do the opposite and run the front AC with air directed to the bedroom, works great!

SuperD,
Well said. The benefit of directing the cold air is outstanding especially if the coach is hot. I can sit at the dinette and get a cool breeze directed at me or recline on the bed and get a breeze. This was not possible before the modification. The mod is cheap on easy. It should have come from the factory this way.

Moro Rock at Moro Bay looking out the bedroom window. Will be here until Thursday then home. So far the two bays we camped at, Monterey Bay and Bodega Bay were all great. Lots of site seeing, relaxing, and a little fishing
And a little Pebble Beach
