I dont know what the final torque was but sure it isnt 250lb. My torque wrench only goes to 150 and it broke a few days ago. So impact wrench then a little extra with ratchet. Red loctite will keep it in place but its something ill be checking on every couple months along with all the other stuff

Last Thursday Dave, Sundance, came over to lend a hand and most important supervise me. I'm not a mechanic and really dont know what im doing. I'm amazed that i was able to do the mods i already completed without damaging and destroying the mh
Anyways this mod was probably the most difficult so far. Mainly because you have to be on your back or stomach by the rear differential with very little room. Would be much easier if you had a mechanics pit to drive over so you could work while standing
So Dave failed at supervising me and I screwed up a little which cost us a couple hours of drive time to get a couple parts. We were able to get the main bracket on the drivers side and spacer bracket on the passenger side installed. Dave had to leave and my back was killing me so it was a good time to stop
Over the weekend i installed the bracket to the frame rail but didnt install the track bar because it requires a 250 lb torque. No way to do that without a little help. My buddy came over today and we got the bar torqued down in about 15 minutes
Ill be testing it out in march with a quick trip to vegas
Thanks again Dave for the help. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. Its a rare thing these days to find quality friends willing to help. Thanks again

The drawings need to be taken with a grain of salt! Just like Jamie said above, the drawings show how the coach was SUPPOSED to be built, reality may be a little different. Drawings show a 1,000 watt inverter, my coach has an 1,800 watt.
Looking at the drawings soon after I bought the coach confirmed the bathroom sink is plumbed in to the black tank. I got curious after our first trip why the black tank was filling so fast, looked at routing of plumbing and saw why.

I too requested the drawings and received them same day. Good addition to your Owner's Manual folder!

Jerry, Does the drivers side of your track bar mount on the axel housing where the swaybar mounts? Kinda looks that way from the picture and looks like you also have a spacer under the swaybar mount on the passenger side. Using red loctite I don't think you'll ever have it come loose! Which bolts had to be torqued to 250? Still think it looks awfully good!!! Dino is gonna have to work hard to top that! Lol

SD,
Yes the drivers side bracket bolts to the welded on sway bar bracket. Passenger side is just a spacer to keep both brackets even
The 3/4" bolt used to attach the top bar to the bracket and frame together is torqued to 250 lbs. The instruction say to use red loctite on every bolt and they provide a small tube. The tube was only good for a couple bolts. I always keep red and blue in the garage so i was good to go
Also the nuts for the 3/4 bolt is a locking nut. Its not going anywhere

I like your setup a lot better than the model that bolts to the differential housing. And yes, with a locknut and red locktite it's not going to fall off, ever!

SD,
All the track bars I looked at attach to the sway bar brackets for f 53 18k chassis. 20k and up attach to the differential housing. It all depends on the rear axel.

Did not know that, thank you!!! Obviously the axel housing on the 18k chassis must be different.

SD,
They all look the same to me. Our differentials have the same looking bolt pattern. There must be a reason to do it differently for the smaller chassis.
I just looked at a couple of pics of the bigger axels. The sway bar mounts below the shock. No way for the track bar bracket to be mounted so they came up with the differential housing. Both should work the fine and accomplish the same thing.
