Im doing my monthly generator run. Dealer tech said 5 minutes each month just to pump fresh gas through the system. Onan book said 2 hours with a/c running to put the gen on with a load. I follow the book but sometimes stop at 1 hour. I also run my Honda 2000 at the same time. Gens like to be run keeping them off for long periods is bad for them

Ive had rain here the past couple of days. Its partly cloudy right now and beautiful outside. Good day to sit outside while they run

Jerry

I like it on all the time and it looks cool also. I want to add color leds under the mh also. The step light will be a good place to tie into so i can control it from the switch

Amazon here i come with another order

Jerry
My outside step light works when the door opens and goes off when it closes I was thinking of adding an additional inside step well light to that switch so when we open up door the stairs inside will light up and go off when we close door

Don,
Thats works fine running your gen that way. We cant go out every two weeks thats why i run it at home

Your fridge should run on propane when driving but running the gen will also power the fridge.

Ok i miss spoke. The step switch controls the auto retract extend of the step. The step light is controled by the screen door magnetic switch. When the screen door is openned the light comes on

Yes we are blessed with where we live an can use the MH very often, on the fridge and propane we had an incident in November on I95 in Georgia going to Myrtle Beach where a truck dropped a very large spool of aluminum wire in front of us and I ran completely over it doing 55 MPH no body damage to MH but did tear off exhaust pipe and bent drive shaft from that point forward I do not drive with propane on. As a former firefighter I have seen some crazy and nasty things just feel safer this way

I know what the book says, reality says get the windings warm enough to get rid of the moisture. Moisture is what hurts generators, run it with a load long enough to heat the windings and you are good to go!

You were very lucky not to be injured, vehicles can always be replaced. Hope you got the truck number for the insurance! We used to live in Florence, about an hour from the beach, sure do miss it! Again, glad you weren't injured!!!

Exactly, except our step light doesn't come on unless pressure is applied. Weird setup!!!

Nice Dino but that's not one that I'll be doing.

Interesting that they ran the cable to the back of the mh. Where did they enter the inside at. Thought maybe they would try to fish the cable in the same hole as the antenna to the cabinet above the kitchen table.
