Doc,
If you want to spend a few more bucks on suspension, you can install a HD sway bar front and rear(easy installation) and not break the bank. In some ways, I guess it does help with the steering since it primarily keeps the rocking and sway to a min. I hardly notice trucks passing on interstate. I installed the Hellwig brand a year or so ago as well as the Safe-T-Plus stabilizer. I would think a track bar would help also to keep tail wag under control, but they are kinda pricey and I haven't had a problem with tail wag.

Just curious. Looking at the pictures of your driving area, it appears the fans are actually attached to the drop down bunk. Do these not make contact with the dash when lowered? On mine they are located behind the drop down area, but I might add they are useless as there is not sufficient place to rotate them towards the driver and passenger (will be a warranty item when she's goes in).
We have to be careful if we lower the bunk to insure the visors are folded flat or they could easily do damage to the dash.

sorry..the tension / curtain rod is for the over head bed or to separate the cab from the house . Our adult son camps with us alot and loves the curtain for privacy and it helps darken the area for sleeping. Driving our windsport for an hour in 90+ heat was horrible in july. the cab a.c. didnt help much . might try blocking the cab next time.

Sorry for not answering you sooner. We went on our first trip with the mh. 500 mile run up to Bodega Bay. More on that in another thread.
Yes the fans are attached and no they do not hit the dash. I haven't looked at how much they clear the dash. If I remember I will lower it to see and maybe take a pic. for you.

Look nice! Most covers last about 2-3 years in the Florida sun. Mine started to fall apart about that time.

I'm so happy right now. As I posted a couple of days ago we found the exact Jeep we wanted, but it didn't have the step rail bar. The step rail was negotiated in with the deal. I assumed , which you should never do, that the rail they were going to install was the 3" or 4" black round step bar.
When I was doing the comparison between the Sport S and the Sahara I made the comment that the Sahara's step bar (more like a running board) was much nicer that the Sport S bar.
Well I took the jeep in today to get the Bar installed. When they brought it back out I was very happy to see the Sahara running board. I was talking to the sales guy when it came out and he said he knew I liked this one better so that's what he order for me.
All I can say is AWESOME. The wife is super happy about it also. The more I drive this Jeep the more I like it.
Only bad part is my wife took all her girly stuff out of the CRV and put it in the Jeep when I got home SO now its her Jeep that I can drive on the weekends.
I post a pic of the running boards and post them in a bit.
Jerry

Back to the mods.
I've been kind of lazy the past several weeks and a little depressed. I had to put down my 15 year old lab. She was the sweetest dog i ever owned. Always by my side and always wanted to be pet. 15 is a good long life for a big lab. She will be missed
So i tried to check the water in my batteries the other day. Ha that was a joke. There are tons of cables and no room at all to look into the cells
I dont know why they dont put the batteries on a sliding tray. For what we pay for these mh i think it should come with it
So i got online and ordered the Flow-Rite Qwik-Fill kit # mp-2000. This kit is for two 12 volt batteries. They have other kits for single or 6 volt
I also bought the hand pump kit which you have to have to pump the water into the battery cells
Took about 15 minutes to install which includes instructing my neighbor on how it works. He always comes over to see what im doing to the mh and to gossip
Attached the pump and i was surprised on how much water it took. No leaks. Im happy. Hopefully by doing this mod and checking the water often ill get some time out if the batteries
I took a couple pics. Hopefully you can see the yellow cell caps which are the mp2000
Also went out and bought a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. I cant go without a truck and the wife wont let me use the Jeep for home depot runs
Pick of the quick connect

Interesting to read about your mods. I own the father of your guys Hurricane, mine is a 29D from 2002, and it has a slide try for three house batteries! It looks like the cheapened down the Hurricane over the years. My curtain rails go all the way to the end of the windows!
I did almost all the mods you did, and than some.
I put Bilstein shocks on all 4 corners installed the CHF in front and rear and a Steer Safe system.
I got the best bang for the money from a rear track bar and Sumo Maxim springs in the front. There are no white knuckles anymore when a semi races buy me after these mods. To get some extra pep and a better behaving transmission, I got the 5 Star tuning installed.
I am currently in the process of tearing out the dinette and replacing it with a breakfast bar type setup. I bought two folding chairs from Bed bath & beyond that I will use with this arrangement.
I travel alone with DD (dear dog, a Rottweiler/Great Dane mix) who was occupying the couch until now. By removing the dinette I gained plenty of floor space and now DD can sleep on his standard bed on the floor. The couch can be flipped back up now and I can lounge on it and watch TV. Te removal of the dinette allows now also to turn the drivers seat around fully, and divers seat, passenger seat and couch provide now a nice seating arrangement. The breakfast bar sits on top of some newly installed cabinets, and this way I almost tripled my cabinet space in the kitchen/living area.
