Call Thor directly to find another repair facility & if yours is movable pick it up tomorrow.. Once you find another facility tell them to order the necessary parts & then take to them with a time limit to repair. The crap of sitting on a lot while "waiting on parts" is uacceptable, you should be using it if it's at all movable while they wait on parts.

I hadn't planned on using our coach for at least five weeks, two of which we spent in Germany for the birth of our grandson. When I dropped off our coach the service writer said it would be 4-5 weeks since it takes a long time to get authorization and parts from Thor, which is really not that true, I was ok with that. This is the only Thor dealer within a reasonable distance of me and also where I purchased my coach. I am going to be sending an email to the owner, service manager, and Thor when I have the coach back and express my dissatisfaction with the repair time frame.

I totally agree that it should be order parts, bring coach in, repair, and pick up. One week should be enough to rebuild the entire coach!

Curtain Liners

Our curtain liner material was deteriorating and turning to floating dust particles! We got blackout curtain liner material from Joanne Fabrics and removed the crap liners material (what was left of it) and sewed on the new material. Here is a pic of the final work.

Im with Dave. Ill do a lot of measuring to see what will fit. Bigger the better.

Jerry

I agree...they probably changed the bracket and mounting methods so that the 40" would fit and stay attached.

Good job! I few of us with Windsport/Hurricane 29Ms removed the curtains all together and installed roller blinds (day & night).

Just pick up my 2018 29M Windsport today. Did anyone have an issue with wind noise coming from the front windshield area? I had a strong headwind on the way home and at speeds over 35MPH there was a loud wind noise. Looked around the internet and some people say it might be the mirrors out to far? I did push them out to adjust them. I can't believe how some things get past inspection. There are 2 blocks fiberglassed on the the underside of the engine hood that the lift brackets attach to, one block was placed over an inch lower than the other and the hood does not close on the one side because it hits the opening. They are either going to try and trim the block or order a new hood. The outside has a few deep scratches / chips in the fiberglass and a decal that is peeling off. Also the steering wheel was not centered and needs to get a front end alignment. Taking it out this week for a maiden voyage then back to the dealer on Monday for the repairs.

Chris and Debbie, Congratulations on your new 29M, you're going to love it!!!

Wind noise is caused by the grill. Have the dealer order the new honeycomb grill, free under warranty because this is a common problem, and zip tie it to the backside of the grill, noise will stop. Get front end aligned, then do the CHF to your coach. Lots of reading but there are lots and lots of great ideas in this thread that Jerry started. I think some of us have started figuring out the coach now so if you have questions feel free to ask, I'm sure several people will be glad to help.

New coaches have growing pains but it's all worth it in the end. Hope you enjoy many safe and happy miles in your new rolling home!!!

Congrats on your delivery neighbor. Nice to see another Windsport in the neighborhood. I get wind noise on mine if the sliding windows by the driver and passenger are not closed and latched properly.

Thanks SuperD & Shawn62, I have been reading this thread for months soaking up all the great upgrades that i need to do. Just found another possible place the wind in coming in from, the entrance door is opened about a half in from the latch down when closed. The unit did not come with a manual for the radio so I looked one up online and the radio is a discontinued model already. In case anyone wants to know what radio they put in it, it is a model Axxera AV615BHM.
As the saying goes:

Check your side windows. If I locked them it would push on the glass bowing it out and would make a lot of noise. I just keep them unlock and had the RV dealer adjust them.

Spent the late morning and afternoon washing the Kern River dirt off the mh. For some stupid reason i decided to throw a quick wax job on it also. The 75* heat sure feels like 157* now. Time for a shower and nap.

I still want to see if I can get a Steves Blind to fit and hold to the wall. It will be tricky to get the blind and valence screwed in. The brackets of both will get in each others way. Hopefully Ill be able to use one screw for each or attach the valence with the bracket above instead of the current below install.
