I let the generator cool down and pulled off the side panel, no obvious problems, checked air cleaner, no problem. Put SeaFoam in the fuel tank, ran the generator about 10-15 min to get SeaFoam in to the carburetor, let sit overnight.

This morning tried again about 15 min later surging started again. Opened generator up again, still no obvious problems, so now I'm thinking about pulling the carburetor to clean it. As I was staring at the generator and dreading pulling the carb the light came on!

I had parked about 3 feet farther to the left than what I normally do. The ground slopes up on the side where the generator it, finally figured out there was not enough room under the generator and after about 15 min it's overheating!!! Dummy!!!

I guess the moral to this story is: "when all else fails, pull your head out of your ass"!!!

Did you use power from that harness to power the monitor? I know you said accessory but not sure what or where you meant. I'm thinking of pulling from the lighter plug if I can get to it, just not sure where to get power.

I was playing around with the switches and talking to Dino on the phone about the wiring for the new monitor. I can reach the fan switch from under the dash but just cant get enough leverage to get the switch to come out. The bottom clip is tight.

I'll get it out one way of another and that's where I'll get power. DIno wired his monitor to a 12v accessory plug. Unplug when not needed. If I cant get the fan switch out that's what I'll do, but its not my preferred way.

Ordering my monitor this evening.

Dave, Sundance, stopped by the house today. Showed him the planned monitor location. He was able to get the fan switch out of the dash. So i just need to check voltage and im good to go power wise.

Thanks again Dave. Youre my hero [emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji106] [emoji106]

I understand the trigger wires but why hook them up? On the quad view monitor you will be able to see all three cameras at the same time. Also since there is easy access to the switchbox wiring harness why not use it for power since it's switched just like the fans? Just curious since I'm ordering my monitor on Monday.

Hope everyone has a Great weekend!!!

Well that was what i was thinking there is already existing 12v power that is only hot when ign is on just like the fans so why not use what is already there
I have also posted this question on oldgolds original post good bye axxera

I guess im over thinking things again. The reason for hooking up to the fan switch was #1 because oldgold did it and #2 my radio is hooked up to the house batteries not the ignition.

My thought was having the monitor on only with the ignition. Guess i was being lazy and didnt want to push the off button on the monitor. Guess ill decide next week when i arrives and i do the install.

As for the indicator wires i still probably want to use that fuction especially the right turn signal.

Jerry, true the radio is hooked to the house batteries but the switch box harness is switched with the ignition. If you turn on the radio you can't get a video feed until the ignition is on. After giving it some thought, and figuring how easy the switchbox harness is to get to, I think I'll get power from there. I'm not going to use the trigger wires because of the three I prefer the rear camera, plus being able to see all at the same time on the quad view. If I used a single input monitor then I would use the triggers, maybe.

Jerry the 12v wires in question are hooked up to ign with key on they are hot key off they are cold just like the fan wires I had the radio out when i tested the wires with my meter so no connection to radio except for video wire what made me check this out was remembering when backing up monitor would be on but once I turned ign off camera would go to blue screen so no video to radio hope my ramblings make sense

Genius! Do you have a latch to hold the door open? We got rid of the gas strut and added one of the old school bar and tab closure sets. I wonder if holding the door open at max spring tension would wear out the spring quickly...?

No, I do not have the door latch system but I am thinking about it. The spring is pretty robust so I don't think the tension would wear out quickly.

I went out and checked power on the wiring harness to the switchbox, red is power, black is ground, and I confirmed that the power is only on with the ignition. After a little thought I've pretty much decided to use the switchbox power, mostly for the ease of access and simplicity. Will be ordering my monitor Monday morning.

Thank you oldgold and Dino for your great ideas and postings!!!

Did the black wire have a green strip on it???

What color wires do you have??

For Dino the blk/ grn was the back up camera indicator.

Jerry, I have red, white, yellow, purple, and black with green stripe. I didn't check the trigger wires, just power, on mine the black/green was ground. Better check your wiring first to be sure since mine is not the same as Dino's???

A multimeter using a probe in the connector will confirm quickly what goes where. You'd think since you, Dino, and I have the same model the wiring would be the same, guess not!
