Rv safe
Hello from Lubbock, Texas!
Ordered and installed a Digital Combo/Biometric Fingerprint Scanner RV Safe yesterday. The safe measures 14X10X10.
For those of us who own the Windsport or Hurricane 29M, this safe fits perfectly in the cabinet behind the 32" TV in the bedroom. Also note you can secure the safe with 2 of the 4 bolts included. You also have plenty of room for some storage behind and to the side of the safe.
On our way to Amarillo, TX for a weekend campout. Pictures to be posted on my Facebook later. Have a wonderful weekend and travel safe!!

Forward vent to fan 29M

Tom - Finally back on line today. Followed your mod install exactly for the replacement of the forward vent to powered fan. Completed the entire wiring install in less than an hour.
Anyone interest in making this mod in a 29M, Tom's outline is definitely a best practice for that application. I also replaced the bedroom fan, which I moved to vent location, with a Maxx Fan 7500. Wow, this fan is amazing! Well worth the time and expense for this mod. And really not that difficult.
Thanks again for all input on this topic.

Prepping the mh for our two week New Mexico trip. Pulled some stuff out we never use like the round table that goes in between the front seats, the BBQ and BBQ stand that came with the mh.
I'm selling the BBQ and stand if anyone local is interested in it. I'm a charcoal guy. BBQ is still in the box never opened.
Did a couple small mods. Added a drawer handle to the upper part of the bathroom cabinet. Maria likes to hang up her girly supplies, make up etc. It can also be used to hang a towel.
Also added another storage bin on Maria's side under the window. Of course she had one in her bathroom or craft room in the house. So now she has more storage for her junk I mean stuff when we are driving. At least they match each other

I put the leveler pads on the second from the top step so the chocks would have something to sit on

Rick,
I like that design. Could you please give me the rough dimensions for those? What length did you use for each lift step?
Thanx

I tied directly into the power (pink) wire for the Grey water heater switch back side of power panel. One thing I did do differently than Tom, I fixed a 6 foot piece of fishing braid to a stiff solid core wire and pushed it through the lighting wire feed hole in the ceiling inside/top power panel and pushed the braid though the square conduit from that direction to the new 1/2" hole drilled at the vent housing. Grabbed the braid there, tied the other end braid to the new wires for fan power and pulled them easily through without a problem. Doing it reversed would be a challenge as the hole is tuff to get eyes on if you only remove the power board for access and not the cabinet walls.
Roger . . . I'm always up for a fishing trip!

Installed the Bauer EM combo lock today. Bought it at rvupgrade.com. $229
I had to call Bauer on Friday for a shim. Door wouldn't line up without it. Received two shims today. Great service. Only needed one shim for install. Other than needing the shim its a direct swap.
I will go to Home depot tomorrow to pick up a drawer handle to install in the inside. You can't real get a good grip to close the door from the inside. I'll post pics of that tomorrow after its installed

Finished the lock install today. Bought a drawer handle at home depot. Had to remove the inside part of the lock to drill out the holes for the bolts. Maria wanted chrome color to offset the black lock. She felt you would be able to see the handle better. Handle fit nice and there's room to grab it even if the screen is closed
Other project done.
While at home depot I came up with another mod. Will hopefully work on it tomorrow.

I had similar issue and attribute to running with the doors closed. I'm pretty sure I posted the bathroom door rail repair somewhere on the site. I'm thinking the top rails don't have enough substrate to handle the cantilevered weight of the door when it is closed.

Another quick project done today. I always hate having the sewer hose on the ground. And the slinky support always falls or the hose gets push through when dumping. So while at home depot yesterday I picked up two 10' pieces of PVC rain gutter, couple small eye bolts, 8 bolts with wing nuts.
Cut the gutter in half for 4 pieces of 5'. Drilled holes every 8" for bolts and wing nuts. By putting holes every 8" I can adjust the length of the gutter as needed and the gutters fit inside each other which adds some strength. Use two 6" pieces of chain to attach to eye bolts that I bolted to the bottom of the sewer cargo bay
With the four pieces I can attach them together and run almost the 20' minus the over lap.
The hose fits nice and secure in the gutter and will now be protected from the dirt and rocks at the campsite. Rocks cause small holes in the sewer hose
Depending on the length of the run the hose maybe elevated the entire way or at least close to it.
The gutters fit in the rear cargo compartment

Very interesting post. When the gutter is lengthened to nearly 20 feet, do you need supports to keep it from sagging?

Don't know haven't used it yet. If I use all 4 pieces it will rest on the ground. the reason for the holes and wing nuts is to double it up for support. The PVC is pretty strong and will only have wright when dumping. So I think it should workout just fine
I'll let you know when I use it in a couple week's at the Albuquerque balloon festival

could wait til tomorrow. Only took I couple minutes to move them forward. Much better. Now the entire piece is used and easier to get to the eye bolts
