Well welded step and put it back on. Its solid. Still have the ratchet problem. Called LCI and they believe the new motor is bad so they are sending me a new one before me having to buying a new step. Hope it works. Frustrating that something so simple can give me such a problem

Jerry

More on the motion activated LED light strips

I took some pictures at night, with all the lights out in the RV to compare the Motion Brite with the Easy Home light strip.

Note: the Motion Brite was 7 (or 7 12") and the Easy Home was 10" long.

This test was a little over-dramatic...some lights will most likely be on in the RV, but this at least gives everyone a good barometer.

edit: Motion Brite on top, Easy Home on the bottom.

Nice post!! I bought the Motion Brite at BBB. I checked 3 Aldi stores with no luck. They must have sold out in Western New York.

Update on my step.

I am expecting the new motor to arrive today from LCI. With rain forcasted for wednesday and disneyland tomorrow i thought id remove the motor and get the step ready hoping to install tonight if ups get here early.

Pulled the motor and decided to look into the gear box. When replacing the original motor i felt the gear in the gear box but never looked at it. The teeth i could feel felt fine

This time i looked inside at the gear and moved the arm back and forth. Sure enough i found two broken teeth at the end of the gear

LCI customer service assured me the gear never breaks. Well never say never. LCI sent me a new gear box with the first motor they sent me. Four nuts holds the gear box to the step. Quick and easy install

All is working great and ups just delievered another motor. So now i have an extra controller and two motors

LCI has been more than great. But I wish they would have told me to change the gear box instead of saying it never breaks. BUt all is good and they took great care of me.

I hope you sent LCI that picture of the broken gear teeth! Well done Jerry. Have a blast at Disneyland and give our best to Maria!!!

Jerry - was the stuff falling from the sky clear & wet? If so, back east...we call that rain!

Must have been some heavy winds to flip the cover on the Camaro!

Hoping it didn't mess with the Hurricane any.

Dave, I'm with you on the snow...we already had a dumping of 7" in November.

Would Jerry really be getting snow out there though?

It would be wild if that happened.

I guess it was bound to happen! Today is the first "real" snow storm we had in Lubbock since 2015 (Storm Goliath)!
