Newbie here....may not be doing this correctly. I started reading this thread from the beginning, got to page 68 and knew I would never catch up. I bought a 2018 31Z Hurricane in November 2018. I put new front and rear anti sway bars and steering stabilizer on. That was a huge help. Yesterday I was putting the battery fill system in and noticed that the battery compartment moves around. It's like they attached the top but not the sides.....is that correct? I would think it would be like all the other storage compartments. BTW, I have learned more in the 68 pages I have read. What a great group of people here.

Get the battery box checked out. Mine wasn’t adequately installed. I checked mine after reading about one that let go in a parking lot. Fortunately they weren’t at speed on the highway. Evidence showed that it was loose for some time then welds broke.

Thanks Jerry. I live NW of Houston. All of the Thor warranty dealers are really bad. I have talked to a lot of people and none of them use the warranty dealers. They either fix it themselves or go to a RV shop and pay for it. I have done all the warranty work so far because it all has been easy stuff. Really easy if I was able to do it. I think I see the issue and it looks like Thor did not screw the metal battery box to the rails on the out side of the box. I am not sure what type or what size screws I should use. Do you have any recommendations?

I would call Thor to see if there is a mobile mechanic or an rv shop authorized to do warranty work. There are a few for my area, non dealers.
If it can be bolted use several. Cant recommend size because im not sure where you are bolting. Use nylon locking nuts or loctite blue so the nuts dont back out
Post some pics if you can. Someone might have a better answer for you
If you can see broken welds im sure any welding shop can reweld for not to much money

Jerry, thanks for the info. I will try to post some pics....well I may need to get my 13 y/o grandson to show me how....hahaha. I did try the way I have in the past and it didn't work. If I am under the MH looking up at the battery box I can see where Thor put some screws into a metal rail that is part of the box. They just don't screw into anything. It looks to me if the screws were 1/2" longer they would reach a rail of the MH. Let me try to get some pics to help you see what I am talking about.

Could not find this thread
Jerry, downloaded the app, search for Jerry's Hurricane Mods and it came back with "we could not find". I will mess with it later. My grease gun and grease came yesterday. Plan to do that today and finish putting in the dog crates.

Hi Jerry, My screen does not look like yours. I do have "New Topic", New PM, Create Group and under group Thor Forums". My wife is better at this stuff, she will help me.
I do have a question. I greased the MH today. Every fitting took a lot of grease. The #9 fitting "steering Gear" never seemed to fill. I bet I put 1/4 of the lube in there. How do you know when it has enough? All the other fittings I could see some grease come out.....not #9 Thanks. This went much better than the oil change I did......

Following. Where would I find a doc that maps the grease points in a 29M?

I went to Google and put in "Ford F53 Grease points" Printed off what Jerry has above and took it with me when I did the job. Glad I did. You really need to make sure you find all of the fittings before you start. I think it is fitting #7 that I had to turn the wheels on the MH so I could get to it.

I remember early on in this tread some of you folks added a vent to your A/C. I order two (one of them is trashed) and was going to try and install them. Just a few questions, they did not come with screws, I have no idea what I should use. What did you use to cut the hole? Do you cut from the top or the bottom? I have zero skill set. Never done any of this before..... Thanks for the help.
