I made this after a quick trip home from Florida. I wanted a snack but didn’t want to stop. Juggling a bowl of chex mix on your lap while driving is not safe. I posted this in the Windsport/Hurricane site on Facebook but had not used it on the road. Well after another hard drive to and from Myrtle Beach for spring break, I love it!
I turned the stem to fit tightly into the cup holder. The top is 5 3/4 inches above the console. The top follows the contour of the console and bumps out 2 inches where the bowl sits. I left two inches to access the light switch and the 4 inch hole for the bowl allows me to look straight down to the leveler controls.

Thanks Habu. I love the layout. Once I get through these few issues I think I will enjoy it well into the future.

Nice!
Did you make up a sketch with dimensions that you could share? I want to do this exact same thing for my Hurricane.

Excellent workmanship! How much would you charge to make me one?

Added the SeeLevel tank system. Put the monitor over the old, after removing old monitor. It was a bitch using the dremel to cut out the hole but got it done. Sorry no pics of step by step install only of the finished product

Here’s a very rough sketch.
I turned the stem to fit very tight into the cup holder. I didn’t have any 4x4 stock on hand and I was in a hurry so I went out a loped off some fence post in the chicken coop. It was a little high in moisture content. It was originally 3.740 dia. It has shrunk about .040 but still no wobble or movement.

If anyone is a competent wood worker the attached PDF is the design drawing for a Newmar passenger side armrest/workstation. You'll find them installed on BayStar and Canyon Star gas rigs if you want to see what it looks like. My 2019-2020 winter project.

I wish I had a lathe to spin a 4x4 down - what a great idea this was Dbadger777!

Congratulations on your new rig. We have a 35M too. We added a fireplace and replaced the "L" couch with a wall hugger recliner. Welcome aboard, lots of info here.

PMORRIS92223,

Could you tell what fireplace you installed? I would like to do this in my 35M. We love the floor plan also.

Thanks,

Shawn

I’ll check the model. Not overly happy with the install. The dealer has ordered more wood from Thor to frame it out. I was going for a similar install to the Challenger. I am planning on rebuilding the cabinet over the winter to accommodate a bit more depth.
