Haven't used it yet and don't plan to. It's for emergency use. I'll keep it in the jeep on trips. At home I use my little giant. Way more stable

For our long trips (when we were snowbirds), I strapped my little giant to the RV ladder on our Hurricane for the ride south. Much more secure than RV ladder.

My CHF experience
I have a THOR ACE on a Ford F53 chassis. I did the CHF on the front but not the back. I also have a rear trac bar, sumo springs and a Safe-t-plus steering stabilizer. I would say that the biggest change occurred after adding the trac bar (Ultra RV Products UTF53V8R Rear Ultratrac Trac Bar) the sway due to wind and passing trucks was dramatically reduced to almost nothing. However, I was experiencing a very rough ride from the front end. Really rough. When going over bumps and bad roads, the front end would "bang" hard and the whole coach would shake. Pretty noisy and uncomfortable. I had the chassis serviced recently and had them redo the CHF to the factory position. The ride is 100% smoother and I am not experiencing any additional untoward sway. Does this make any sense to those who know this chassis better than me? Just thought I would post my experience with the CHF.

I only experienced that after installing the front one piece sumos. After they broke I replaced them, warranty, with the two piece sumos. Smooth ride after that

I had a hard bump thing going on the front end when the we'd hit the expansion joints and small pot holes etc. I dropped the tire pressure front 120 to 106 and it softened up the ride. Before that I did the CHF front and back, Rear arc bar and steering stabilizer. The rear trac really made going around corners/curves way easier

Jerry, what happened to the front sumos, did the separate from the mounting plate?
I have had them on the front since mid 2015 and havent had any problems yet but have read of some that do. I just put sumos on the rear last week but havent had a chance to drive the coach yet

Hi Jerry, yeah I have the 2 piece Sumo’s on mine. On my coach it really seems like the CHF on the front made the ride very very harsh. That “bang” I described was really disturbing at times. Since I moved the front sway bar back to the factory position I’m experiencing a much smoother ride. Don’t know about the back CHF which I did not do since I had the rear ultra trac bar installed after reading your post a while back. Now that really made a big difference with wind and passing trucks. Thx :-).

Yes both separated while coming home from a trip. I felt the difference but couldn't see the problem until I raised the front end with the leveling Jack's
The company gave me the choice of what I had or the two piece. The rep said the two piece was a softer ride.
Rep said it's not common for the sumo to separate

I've never experienced the "bang" but have read that a few people have this problem
Guess you'll need to keep it stock or buy an upgraded sway bar

I ran a 30 amp connection at the house. The MH has two 13.5 A/C units. Can I run both as long as I don’t run anything else?

Probably not in Texas. The draw for each A/C is 11.7 to 14.6 amps depending on the outside temperature. Of course that depends on you maintaining 120 volts at the A/C. If you run both, starting then separately and making sure they do not cycle by setting the thermostat at 50 degrees, it will work some of the time. Electricity use in your house will also effect the voltage at the RV's A/C. A 30 amp circuit breaker is actually rated for 28 amps continuous, and will trip by temperature if that amount is exceeded for a couple minutes.
I am on a 50 amp pedestal and see 122 volts on both legs with only the charger on. Turing on the front A/C will drop the voltage to 116 volts on L1 and L2 to 121 volts. Turning on the rear A/C will drop the L1 to 115 volts and 116 on L2. That puts the total draw at 30.1 amps with the charger drawing 1 amp.

Thanks for all the info. I didn’t think I could but wanted someone to confirm.

Hey Jerry,
Nice work! I really like some of your ideas. Have you located the water pump in your Hurricane? I'm trying to find mine and can't seem to locate it. The pipes reverberate so much when the pump is on that I can't follow the sound.
