pipes frozen

Well we are in Indianapolis for baseball, college baseball started last weekend, and temps got down in the teens. We have been up here in these temps before and as long as I kept furnace running we have never had issue. But since it is my birthday my gift is partial frozen pipes lol. I did not hook up to city water last night for fear of hose freezing. Tank is not frozen. Kitchen sink has no cold or hot. Bathroom and shower have cold but no hot. So I am guessing my frozen pipes are on drivers side which currently is in the shade. Just wanted to ask if anyone has had similar problem.

Well figured it out. The cold water supply that runs underneath floor about where tv is was the culprit. Put a heater in the compartment where shower pan is, you can see cold water that feeds to under kitchen sink from tank and I assume also from city water to bathroom. I went out and hooked to city water and turned pump off and I had hot and cold at kitchen sink but only hot in bathroom. So made sense that is where was froze up.

Glad you figured that out. Sure glad I live on the west coast. In the 50s last night and 70 expected to day.

12V Converter/Charger Replacement

Hello again from Lubbock, Texas. As most of you know, I replaced my AGM batteries with Battle Born Lithium batteries. I learned that in order to charge the new batteries proficiently, I had to replace the original converter/charger with one that is designed for Lithium batteries. Mission accomplished!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and get those mods coming!!!!

Another quick mod. Maria wanted a grab rail on the screen door. Something easier to hold on to when opening the door. The gas shock on the door is to strong and makes the door fly open if not held. I have a new shock coming next week with less force. Old is 20 lbs pressure new is 10 lbs pressure. Hopefully the new one will be better and just hold the door in place.

Anyway the grab rail took maybe 15 minutes to install.

Handle is a camco. Got it from amazon

New gas strut came today. Install took less than 5 minutes but the end piece on the new one was bigger and hit screen door preventing it from closing. Put the old one back on. After emailing the company to see if they had something different to replace this I realized the end pieces screw onto the rods. Switched the end pieces and installed new one

This strut is 10lbs of pressure. Old was 20lbs. The door still opens fast with the new strut but with less force. So hopefully it will be easier to use and no more slamming the door open

Water Heater

Need a little help please. Just purchased a 2019 29M. Yes I know it’s under warranty but a pain to get it back to dealer for service. Water heater works on propane but not electric. Breaker is not tripped and have correct 12volts going into circuit board on water heater and 12 volts coming out and going to a relay. My problem is that I can’t find that relay and I cant find the electric heating element. I want to test for 120 volts I can’t see it under the sink. Do I have to slide water heater out? Any help please

On my 29m to get to the water heater you have to remove the falseaall below the sink. Its 4 screws. Then you can see the water heater. The heating element will be in the lower center of the unit

Couple of years ago we smelled something burning, traced the smell to under the sink.Click image for larger version

This is what we found, insulation only partially stripped on one wire of the water heater power which caused excessive resistance, heat, and almost a fire!!! Check all your connections closely!!! We were lucky that we were in the coach when this happened, traced the problem quickly, and possibly prevented a situation that could have been disastrous.

Gutters

So grateful for this forum. It has helped me tremendously.

I have been looking for posts on gutters for my 2017 29M. Any helpful tips?

Also the gas pistons to hold the bed up to get under it.

Thank you all soo much.

Paul

\Another reason to switch to CAFCI (AFDD) instead of standard circuit breakers.
