What type and what size for my Thor 29m doghouse ?? Tx

I did a sound barrier and a heat barrier on top of that (or was it the other way around). If I remember, the details on how to do it is on this thread.

I am new to the Thor forum, just purchased a 2012 32a Hurricane. I am not familiar with the CHF of the front sway bar. It sounds like it improves handling, but do you loose something. Turning radius or ? I need to crawl under mine and take a look. It handles well already but I am all for improvement. Thanks for all of the info. I am working my way through all of the posts and gaining a ton of knowledge.

Rod,
You dont lose anything driving wise. You might lose a bit of height when leveling

Welcome to Thor, Rod. I bought a 2018 ACE 30.4 (F53 chassis) a few years ago and one of the first mods I did was the CHF front and rear. Pretty straightforward, tightens up the front end, reduces roll/sway. No real downsides from my experience. You’re not touching the steering elements so no change in turning radius.

There are tons of videos out there. Here’s one that explains the CHF pretty well. https://youtu.be/MozieIP58PY

Take a look at your rig. I’d be surprised if someone didn’t already do the CHF. If the drop links are connected to the end holes in the sway bars, the CHF has not been done yet.

Using the stock drop links for the CHF puts the sway bars at a funny angle, reduction the torsion. Installing adjustable drop links will allow you to get the right angle on your sway bars if you want.

Looks great, Dino! Welcome back to the land of "hitch and go!"
How many miles on Stormy II ? (Looks like it was well cared for.)

Both the chassis battery and house battery indicator will fluctuate wildly They both always seem to indicate nearly the same amount. This is while hooked up to 50amp shore power or generator power for a few days now I don’t beleive the readings are correct because even when they are reading 5 volts both the engine and generator will start and the meter for solar controller is reading a constant 14 volts. Everything seems to be working correctly until the reading gets much lower than 5.5 volts then the display is difficult to read and none of the switches will work on display It’s a 2019 29 M and the slide is currently out sitting in my driveway and not sure it will retract to be able to get it into service I’m thinking it’s the controller board Has anyone else had this issue?

I have a similar problem on my 2020 29M only it is just the chassis battery indicator that randomly fluctuates wildly, although everything else seems to work normally. I am in the process of troubleshooting and will post back here if I find anything.

Hello my fellow RVers! Wanted to share my next project. As you probably already know, the steps we have on rigs are not the best and that includes me for sure!! I am installing a new motor and gearbox in our Windsport 29M.

Hi Dino,
Did the old one ever fail on you?...or was this preventive? I'm also interested in knowing where you found a replacement and if it's heavier duty.
Hope you're staying safe over there in Texas.

The plastic gear on the original step failed because the step was not given a chance to complete the opening procedure by friends and family when visiting the RV. You have to let the step completely open before stepping on it. the extra weight caused the gear to be worn down. LCI also said certain step covers inhibit the correct operation of the step. I took mine off!!

Ready Brute Elite II Tow Kit

For those of you who did not see my previous post, we purchased a new-to-us 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport 4X4 as our new Tow Vehicle. We currently have a 2016 Jeep Compass but she could not be towed "4 On" and we had to use a tow dolly. Well, that was getting old and we wanted to "flat tow" again. We previously flat towed a Ford Escape but was given bad info and ended up burning up the tranny on the Escape (that really sucked!!! Thanks Ford!!!). My good friend, Jerry Price, has the Ready Brute Tow System and I wanted to share this system with you. We used the Blue Ox Baseplate:
