Not sure I believe everything that this “journalist” wrote:

https://www.motorbiscuit.com/there-i...-at-all-costs/

“ Along with Gulfstream and Fleetwood RVs, the Hurricane RV from Thor Motor Coach is among those listed to avoid at all costs.

Mr. RV notes that Thor Motor Coach hasn’t been around long, but they won’t last long based on what they have produced. The biggest complaint sighted in their review is that many owners believe that Hurricane RVs are built with repurposed parts, which is an unsavory thought when you shell out a significant amount of cash for an RV.”
Thor Motor Coach was formed in 2010 as a strategic merger of Damon Motor Coach and Four Winds International. Hurricane is one of the Four Winds brand. Plant 850 is the Damon plant and plant 750 is the old Four Winds plant. Hurricanes have been made in that plant since the late 1980's. Only the holding corporation has changed. As most of you know plant procures all of Thor MC's ACEs, Freedom Travelers, Hurricanes and Windsports sold under the Thor MC brand. Considering Thor Motor Coach produces 40% of all the motor homes made in the North America and all are sold before they leave the plants grounds, someone likes them. In FY 2019 Thor Ind. had gross sales of nearly 8 billion with a net profit of 133 million and this was the worst year for net profits of the 6 years shown. If it does produce inferior quality motor homes (I don't think so), it is making a profit from selling them, so i doubt the are about to go under. I am not sure what a repurposed part is, but in my coach all the parts were new, under warranty and listed in the bedroom wardrobe door.

We have had our Hurricane for almost two years. We have had a few issues but nothing major. I can see that Thor could do better. In my opinion I got what I paid for. We are having fun and I know we will need to fix something in the future. That’s just part of the life style. Nothing is perfect.

Sorry, I'm bad forgot all about pictures. This old brain will try again to remember pictures.

Just about finished my second season with my 2019 Hurricane 35M. Put about 5,000 miles on it and about 20 weekend trips. Had a couple minor items that were covered under warranty and a few things I have fixed or adjusted myself. Other than that, I’ve been very happy with it.

Mine is oval also, but even the narrow way is too wide to get by without swiveling the seat. I like his prefect and will be doing likewise.

I will have to repair the closet bottom and drawer support in the rear closet of my four month old 33X Hurricane when I get it home. We are disappointed in the quality of workmanship.

Chf is just moving the attachment points on the front and rear sway bars. From the front hole to rear holes. Search on YouTube for videos of it

Hi Dino,

We have a Windsport 29m and would like to install the Recpro recliners to replace the couch that Thor installed. I know there is a heat duct under the couch. How did you manage to install the Recpro with the duct work that is under the couch? You mentioned a heat register. Did you connect the duct to a seperate register?

I bought a heat register at home depot Ran it behind the recliners and have it pointed towards the living area. I screwed it to the wall to keep it from moving.

Pic are on my cell I post them later

Dino - Thanks for the information.

I looked behind the couch and I can see a flexible duct that exits from the kitchen cabinet and it looks like it runs over to a register on the side of the couch by the driver's seat. Is that the duct you are referring to?

Was there enough room behind the new recliners to run the duct?

Also, did you purchase the powered recliners or manual one?

Dino,

Thanks so much for posting the pictures! The recliners look beautiful installed, you did a great job!

Sorry for all the questions but was it difficult to remove the existing Thor couch, did you have to take it apart to pass through the entry door? Did you attach the new recliners to the slide with brackets?

Thanks

Yes I took the old sofa apart. Made it easier to get out

After connecting the new recliners together I bolted them to the floor

Finally made it through all 247 pages in this thread.

I just bought a 2014 Windsport 34j that my family and I will be traveling and living in full time starting in March. My wife and I have 2 small kids so the bunks will be ideal. I got a great deal on a 34j with only 8000 miles so it's like new inside, but the outside has been in the Arizona sun since new. The paint and decals are faded and cracked and the first thing I want to do is have the old decals removed, have the RV buffed out, and new decals installed.

Does anyone have ideas on where to purchase OEM decals? Otherwise I will have to have them made.

Also, since we will be living in the rig full time, I will need a larger refrigerator. Anyone have any ideas on upgrading the fridge?

Thank you to all that contributed to this thread. Because of you, I have a list of modifications a full page long that I will be knocking out one by one.
