Thanks Eric! Sounds like a beautiful place to be, wish I was there, love being near or on the ocean. Buyer of our old house switched finance company 5 days before closing, having to wait for the process all over again, jerk!!! Sure you have seen that before.

Received my “diamond” grill yesterday from Thor and installed it. Haven’t moved the coach since then, so I am assuming it will help.
Good luck with the housing and cold Indiana winters.

Yes, what beach? Getting cold here, thinking about a nice beach might make it a little more tolerable!

RV newbie.
Just wanted to share my appreciation for this forum. I just bought my RV last month and am new to RVing. I'll have to admit it was intimidating to me but this forum helped me to make the leap. Our first trip will probably be delayed now until early spring but this forum has given me things to work on until then and has helped me to get more familiar with my RV.
So far I have done some of the simpler things like screens on the exhaust vents, reflectix in the windows, and put corner molding around the edge of the bed covering the rough cut edges of the bed base. I have also done a lot of work to address rattles and road noises. Probably good for a separate post as I don't recall seeing one on this.
Anyway, thanks for the forum and all the contributions. Hopefully I can give back with some ideas.

29M slide air leak
My Hurricane 29 lets in a lot of air under the sofa in the slide. The weather strips/seals under the sofa have a large gap on the front forward corner. When I look under the sofa I can see a lot of daylight and when the wind blows against the slide side of my rig, a blast of air comes out the gap under the sofa like an air blower. Anyone else have this problem and or come up with a solution?

Look and see if you have missing flap seals, if so yo could use a rolled up towel to block the air temporarily. Sometimes the flap seals get twisted, a wire coat hanger with an L bent in one end can be used to pull them into place, or a broom handle.

The flap seal seems to be missing in the corner. Another use for one of my favorite tools - foam pipe insulation tubing. Just hope I don't forget it's there when I retract the slide but being the corner it probably will be ok.

All in all we have been pretty comfortable and have no real complaints. Our coach has performed better than expected and I’m glad we chose the 29M floor plan, plenty of room for two people to be comfortable. I would like to make note of some of the things we have discovered after spending an extended period of time in our coach.
The foam in the dinette cushion is terrible and uncomfortable, it compresses into a board quickly and takes a while to rebound. The cushions have a removable cover, I will at some point be taking them to an upholstery shop for better foam, shouldn’t be to expensive since the covers zip off.
2. Lack of pantry space. I got a small plastic tote that just fits in the oven with the racks removed. The oven makes a great place to store canned and boxed foods. The extra space under the front facing dinette seat is very handy to use. Again, a plastic tote helps keep it organized.
3. The sofa is a comfortable place for naps!
4. I put a rubber grip pad made for rugs under the mattress to keep it from sliding around so much, works great.
5. The led lights over the bed are to bright! I bought some static cling window tint, used the covers as patterns, and cut out two discs. I cut a small hole in the center of each disc to allow for the switch, cut the disc from the edge to the center hole to allow for the cup shape of the light cover, laid the tint in the cover and reinstalled. Much better, plenty of light but not as harsh now.
6. A small electric ceramic heater works well to keep the inside warm and cut down on propane usage. Have to be careful which circuit you plug into and turn off when using other high wattage items. Temps are getting in the low 30’s here at night, we only use the furnace first thing but n the morning, ceramic heater takes care of the rest of the day.
7. There is no sewer in this park, tanks are good for about 3-4 days before we have to call the honey wagon. As many have discovered, there is a ledge in the black tank under the toilet which tends to clog unless you use plenty of water to flush. I’ve had to use a hose and sprayer to unclog the toilet a couple of times, VERY poor design and it probably wasn’t necessary to do it this way.
8. The light for the overhead bunk makes a nice nightlight in the evening when watching tv.
9. Lots of room under the bed for storage but a PIA if you have get under there very often. The strut I installed helps but the bed is still heavy to lift.
10. I had previously cut and installed Reflextix in the back emergency exit window to darken the bedroom, I think it also helps with keeping the bedroom warmer.
We still haven’t closed on our new house yet so we’ll be in the coach for a while longer. We made a good choice when buying this coach and if I was doing it again I would buy the same one!!!

Fantastic report Dave!! Again, good luck with the house closing!!

dcbenny,
Tell me more about the truck company in Pooler. B&B.
What did they do for you? Where are they located.
I have lived in this area all of my life, worked at the airport 40 years and do not know about this place. At least that I remember at the moment. Old age will do that to you.
It would be great to know should I ever need help with the ace.
CW in Pooler is .... well....
Thanks.

Flying a drone? Enjoy mine but I haven't taken it to a camp site yet. Most places I read about say they are not welcome.

138 Pine Meadow Dr
Unfortunately on the way to Myrtle Beach a truck drop a spool of wire of the back and I hit it tearing off my ehaust and bent my drive shaft. CW would not help me as I didn't purchase MH from them found B&B in yellow pages.

Hello Don,
Just wondering how the trip to Key West was. We are going in a couple of weeks and wondering if everything is almost back to normal after the hurricane.

dcbenny,
Thanks for the information. I know where this is. Looked it up. it's off dean forrest Rd near I-16. It's good to know about them in case I need them.
Did they repair your drive shaft or replace it? Just curious how in dept they can get.
And is it not gut wrenching to have camping world turn you away because you didn't purchase from them? Sorry that happened. I hope you sent a letter to the big dog at CW about it.
Thanks again Sir. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the info. Don. I heard that the center of the Keys got hit harder than Key West due to the path of the storm. I know that one of the restaurants we like is gone.
