Larger Black Tank for ACE 29.3?
Anyone know if you can replace the black tank on a 2016 ACE 29.3? This one is smaller than the one on my old truck camper.

I've put larger tanks on trailers pretty easily. If your 29.3 is anything like my 27.1 it would be a massively larger job and probably require a custom tank. You may be able to add a second tank connected to the original tank with its own discharge gate valve.

As filling 26 gal. does not take long, I think trying to replace with a large tank would be a full scale job. We have had to change our camping methods due to the tank size. A lot more FHU needed, if we are going to be staying for over 4 days at a spot. We ending up getting a tote that travels with us if we are on extended stay without FHU. Also remember that the bathroom sink goes into the black tank.

"Also remember that the bathroom sink goes into the black tank"
Very true across the board of models. A lot more water goes down the bathroom sinks than you think...twice as much water to wash your hands than to do one flush (even more with kids that leave water on when brushing teeth, etc.). I've toyed with the idea of changing the rear sink over to the grey. Haven't looked at schematic yet...may not be possible.

Thanks to Responders
Thank you for the quick responses. We did not know the bathroom sink dumped into the black tank and will modify current use accordingly. I will also look into a second tank and will post if I find a way to make that happen.

They do that to create a "balance" of water in the black tank. Lots of folks are super conservative with use of the toilet water. "Girl Campers" use more toilet tissue (every flush). The idea of bath sink water into the black tank is suppose to add a bit more water, creating more dilution. I've never told my wife about it. I don't want her trembling during face wash about excessive water use. With just the two of us and huge tanks it hasn't been a problem yet. Once we head out West and start boondocking more...we'll have a "class" about it. Three campers back was a Lance Truck Camper an she well understood "small tanks". Graduating from that to the Chateau, she thinks there's no limit now!!

Hi. Have you tried this yet? We've looked at the schematic and it looks like it should be possible if we can just figure out how to get at it.

Maybe a better question for you and you may wish to create a new thread.... Basically asking for options, you should state what size tank do you have now and how much do you think you need?
And don't for get year make and model of coach.

Our 2019 29VE has bathroom sink plumbed to gray
Our black tank has never come close to being full except when brand new and I assume bath sink was going to black. The gray was Full so I had every one use the Bath sink and the gray overflowed
In a way we were lucky because when it overflowed it leaked at a fitting above the tank down into a lower basement beneath the floor, WBGO repaired under warranty within a week.

I know the OP has not been back. I travel with a blue barker tank strapped to the ladder. If we wind up in a COE or state park campground, and stay a few days, it comes in handy. Otherwise, if weather is nice, I use the outdoor shower for everything from washing hands, brushing teeth, to taking a shower ( in swim trunks ). Doesn’t seem much different to me than backpacking.
