What are your thoughts on Leveling Jack Pads. Where to purchase?

Thanks

If you're talking about snap pads there are a number of places they can be purchased to include Amazon and etrailer.com.

If you're talking about something different additional info is required.

Now that I think about it I got mine from etrailer. I call the snap pad people because I had a few questions.

I found their website very useful.... but they didn't have any for the Equalizer systems in stock.
Thank goodness for etrailer...

I’m not using any on my HWH straight acting jacks
It’ll reduce the clearance on my rig to an unacceptable level

Okay: I'll bite...
Exactly how much ground clearance would you lose?

I’m currently at 8”
Jack pads for my rig would add 1.5”

So 6.5” is too low for me as it would be clearly the lowest point.

Luv them! I am currently at Kozy Lakes RV Park after 11 inches of rain in 36 hours. Even with the 4 year old Snap Pads, I sunk down 2 inches in the muddy gravel. I seen muck pull the jack's steel feet competently off the hydraulic cylinders. I still carry 4 - 18" squares of 1" plywood - just because you never know!

I'm getting Bigfoot levelers in a few weeks. They told me Snap Pads would reduce clearance on my class C, and don't recommend them. The solution is get a rubber stall mat from a Tractor Supply store and cut it with a circular saw into 4 pieces just big enough to go under the landing feet. The downside is they take up storage space - the upside is a 4' x 3' x 1/2" is only $28... and they're waterproof and indestructible.

Love my snap pads! No more crawling around to place marine plywood squares under the jacks. Specially nice on rainy days! (Got mine at E Trailer)

Explain why I would need a jack pad or plywood or a mat under a jack?

It increases the contact area: reducing ground pressure.
There are also times when you might not want to put a metal foot down on a surface, and mark it up.

Depending on the size of your Jack foot...
It displaces the weight while protecting the steel foot

I don't see a steel foot being damaged by dirt, rocks, asphalt or concrete.

A surface that cannot take the pressure of a steel plate is not a place I'd want to camp at (swamp).

If you put them down on an asphalt surface that has been recently treated: it will scrape it up...

Another vote for no pads required under jacks. If the engineering required bigger feet the jacks would probably have them. As to damaging asphalt, not my concern. I don't park my RV on dirt camping spots, so no worry there. as for concrete, the weight of my coach does not damage the concrete at home, so no worries. I don't want to give up any clearance to potentially exacerbate a situation going in or out of fuel stations and parking lots.
