Adding 2nd AC, 13.5 or 15K?

Adding a second AC to bedroom in 29' Thor ACE. Will 13.5 be sufficient or should I fo 15? Living room AC is 15K.

I live in Texas. You can’t get enough A/C. Do the 15.

I put a 13.5 in my ACE 27.1 - You can hang meat in the bedroom and we rarely use it at night but it helps tremendously during the hot summer days.

Your ACE is larger so the 15K may be right for you. I don't think there's much of a price difference.

We do most of our camping in the south in the summer. Our 2nd AC unit is a 15k

For the small difference in price & you're upgrading anyway, go ahead with the 15k, I don't think you'll ever say "wow! We have too much a/c!".

Thanks for the input all! I will look at 15s.

On a side note, any recommendations on a circuit breaker? I'm having a hard time finding a stand alone 120v circuit breaker.

If you go for the 15K unit: you might as well consider one with a heat pump.
If you ever camp in cooler weather: it will come in handy.

They seem to work really well down to about 40 degrees.
Enough to take the chill off!

What kind of power system do you have on your MH? If you only have 30A service forget two A/Cs.

Me?
I only have the single 15K with the heat pump.
13.5K was standard; but we ordered the 15K unit as an optional upgrade.

Where would you put the circuit breaker? How will power be provided to the second A/C unit? I've never seen a stand-alone AC circuit breaker, just small two breaker panels.

You could install something like this in a small project box:

I went with a 13.5 in my 29m. Bedroom gets cold fast. For me no need for a 15k

Just wire a separate circuit. There are a couple of great threads on this. Very easily done. I added a 2nd 13.5 so I can run it off a 20a receptacle on the pedestal.

Based on another thread I ordered something similar. This will be inline hidden in storage and then ran to an outlet near the shore power inlet. I will use a heavy duty extension cord to connect to the 20 amp on the pedestal.

Im torn, but will probably go 15 bc the price is so close. I am actually ok with the Coleman 15k we have now. It works surprisingly well, but my wife is pregnant so yeah...

Now that makes total sense!

Main 15.0 AC powered from the 30amp
Bedroom 13.5 AC powered from the 20amp on its own circuit

This is what we used. Has room for 2 breakers. Only used one.
