Under door trim

It’s way too low! Anyone take it off and leave off? Any leaking problems?
Ideas?

You talking about the decorative trip piece that hang down low under the RV?

Mine was crack from the dealer (only took a year to get the free replacement one) so in installed myself (very simple).

I saved the old one. I though about cutting it down about 2 inches... I think it would look fine trimmed down....And save my new one for when I sell the RV. But when it was off it looked too naked.

I didnt find a picture without the trim installed (darn it) but as you can see you can trim off an inch (maybe more) and it would still look fine.

Oh yeah....You would have to put a bead of silone around it to prevent leaks but with the cover on it looks like it would be fine without silcone since the top part goes under the steel threshold plate and the side trim on each side of the door.

You can see the part # in the one picture for those of you that need to order a replacement. I could not get Camping World to understand what I was talking about until I finally took them out to the RV and pointed it out.

Just ordered this from Total Value RV, the part is called a Entry Step Trim: part # 0293388 $30.59 for 2016 Axis 25.2

Not sure if it makes a difference on year,
