After inspection you might have other ideas on what to do or how well it works. Personally I had planned on getting the closable vents that were mentioned above.
BIG +1

Exact same problems we had.

1. Attached duct going to bedroom.
2. Installed adjustable vent, it blows so hard out the 1foot duct it blows the adjustable back to wide open, secured in the 1/2 open position.
3 FIXed the long hose, cut more than 5' off which cured the hole in the duct problem.

My unit is stored a few miles away but we are taking it out tonight for a 3 day weekend. I’m going to trace all the duct work tonight and I’ll post pics of what I find. Also going to trim down those longer runs and see if that helps.

Appreciate all the input!

Took the RV out Thursday night and after set up I took a look at the duct work and the connection to the vents. No holes in ductwork. All connections good.

Popped the ducting off one of the bedroom vents and just tucked the wooden grate out of the way. Left the open duct tube just hanging out where the grate would be (so that it’s now blowing toward the bathroom door instead of flowing into the bedroom)

Tried it that way and it helped. Got the temp difference between the bedroom and the rest of the coach down to about 5 degrees.

——————

Got up next morning and the wife did not like how far back in the site I had parked. Put in the awning and went to bring the slide in so I could pull the coach forward a few feet.

Guess what?

Slide comes in about 1/3 of the way. Stops. Will retract about 2 inches but then won’t go the rest of the way back out.

Won’t go out. Won’t come in.

Tried to override on the slide controller.

No luck. Didn’t change a thing.

So, heater mod on hold while I scrub the forum for slide fix info. I previously had a class A, but it was older and the slide systems are nothing alike.

It is under warranty, and I did call Thor. They will reimburse me for a mobile tech if I need one, but finding one to come to Lincoln Arkansas is proving to be a challenge.

Sorry for your troubles. I didn't quite follow, are you saying the change you made with ducting impacted the slide, or did that just go out due to coincidence?

Pure coincidence I believe. Can’t imagine anything I did with the grate or the vents would have affected the slide out.

I had considered just blocking off one of the bedroom vents, but I’m worried that might put too much strain on the system (perhaps this is unfounded - I’m new to this) but I really don’t have any desire to burn down my RV

So after pulling the grate off in the pic below, the only thing behind it is the duct work for the 4 vents.

See my notes on the pic attached. Could I not just take me of the bedroom vents and reroute it out the grate hiding the ductwork? This would pull half the air out of the bedroom, and aim it into the main coach and at the bathroom.

Any safety issue with this I could be missing, aside from the normal hazards of the job?

I have a bathroom vent that seems to get the most heat and output. I simply removed the grate, put some cardboard on half of it, and it now allows more air to the others and doesn't run us out of the bathroom. Just a screw driver, a box cutter, and some cardboard. Not too expensive.

See Post #16
You could potentially have the furnace overheat if you do not provide adequate airflow to the furnace.

I only cut the output by 50% and there are other vents that have full flow, also it is quite a ways from the intake at the back of the coach. But good to consider. Thanks

BTW, the temp difference between back and front is 15-20 degrees. and that is with the pocket door OPEN. We often sleep with that door closed and we travel with two kids and a 140 pound English Mastiff. The dog is supposed to sleep on the converted dining table/bed, but if given the chance, his favorite spot is the bed with the adults! He does not fit, to say the least.

If I do move the vent I think I would be OK on return air. My reasoning being that I may be losing space on the grill (where the new output will be located), but I will leave a cover on an open hole in the bedroom, which will allow inbound airflow.

For the record both vents in the bedroom are outbound ducts. Not return air. There is a huge air flow out of both. If one was meant to be return air, it was installed incorrectly.
Is it possible to reroute one of the bedroom ducts to a different location? Not the return. With a longer duct?

What year is your 29M? Our's only has one vent there. Weird.

Interesting. My 2018 29M only had one duct into the bedroom. Others are under the kitchen cabinet and the sofa. My heat into the bedroom is also unbalanced.

I found a duct that runs thru my galley was crushed during. If you pull a couple of drawers you can see much of the mess back there. Lots of extra lengths of wiring, etc, just smashed in.

We have a 2020 29M with the identical situation as the OP. I have already tried blocking one of the bedroom vents but it made the furnace trip due to high internal temperature level. I have already purchased a swivel vent to try but I like the OP's idea of re-routing one of the bedroom vents out through the cold air return vent. I may try that.
I will update here what I do and be watching this thread with interest for more ideas.

This is so bizarre!! I just built a box out of a wine crate yesterday. I'd send a pic but not sure how to download it. It is 16" long by 7" by 7". Imagine it with three sides and both ends as well. Put the open side against the vent. It will go several inches past the fridge cabinet and direct heat towards the front. I cut a hole with a hole saw at the front side so a little heat will come toward the headboard. Don't know if I'll drill a hole to point towards the back of the bedroom cause my wife gets too hot and frankly, so do I when the furnace is on. We started with a small cardboard box but it got mangled up so I made one out of wood and can't wait to test it out!! Good luck with your design; Bob Trice

At least you have a better setup then I have. One vent for the bathroom, one way in the back next to the bed and close to the thermostat and then Thor, in their infinite wisdom placed one more up front to cover the entire living/kitchen area. Of all places they put that vent in the door's stepwell area.

The result is that the front is much cooler then the back.

Your coach is similar to mine. I have two vents up front - one in the stepwell and one on the face of the same cabinet. See the attached pix. It might be worth a look to see if the duct was run but the vent not cut in. You never know who was working the line that day. Just sayin’
