Ladder storage

Occasionally, I need a ladder at our campsite. Ordered a 12 ft telescoping ladder, rated for 330 lbs from Amazon. None of the storage bays on our Axis are large enough for it, so I've mounted it on the rear roof ladder. Secured it with a cable type bicycle combination lock and a bungy cord to hold upper portion of the telescoping ladder snuggly to the coach ladder, so it won't rub against our fiberglass exterior. Here's a couple of pic's.

GREAT job! You even mounted it so that it can't "unwind" itself, and end up dragging on the ground!

When traveling you might want to put it inside a plastic bag out there.

Our 25.2 has no rear ladder, and neither did our previous coach. I have the same ladder, and I kept it in the rear compartment of our 25.2 for a year or so. Then I needed that space for something else, so I keep it in the pass through between the front cabinets. Those ladders aren't cheap, I prefer it inside.

It's been awhile since that pass through storage on Vegas/Axis has been mentioned. It is surprising how many folks don't know it is there. It is a great place for a broom, a fishing pole or anything long.

The ladder I have came with a canvas bag...I keep it in one the basement compartments but I think would work for outdoor storage as well. I added "knee guards" to the ends that allow me to lean it against the motorhome without damage. Those ladders are a great little invention.

Nice job Chief. I decided to carry a bi-fold type step ladder, the kind with only a few steps and the hand rail at the top with the larger top platform. I found that it fits in the compartment directly under the front seats. It allows me to get enough heighth to clean the windshield on trips.

For Palazzo owners - I store my telescopic/folding ladder in the unused space on the driver''s side rear pocket behind the radiator grill on my Palazzo. Just added a plate to close out the bottom of the pocket and mounted a couple of D-ring tiedowns to the inner wall to support/secure the ladder. I know it sounds complicated, it's easy to get to, hidden and doesn't use up other valuable storage.

We mounted a shortened "Pool Noodle" to the top rung of ours, and it serves the same useful purpose...
