If you are asking me, since I'm the one who posted about adding the recliners, I had it done. The job, however, is pretty straightforward (although I didn't see how the old couch comes out).

My daughter and I took the old sofa out ourselves and reinstalled it in her fifth wheel. I don't remember the exact sequence, but it was pretty simple. It comes apart in pieces. We found a Youtube video as a guide. Installation was included with our recliner purchase, but on looking at the instructions I'm sure we two ladies could have managed.

Usually they come in pieces so you really don't have to disassemble, more like assemble as you put it in the RV.

What did you use for number two which I suppose covers the return air? What is number three covering? I suppose I'll be able to tell what to take out of the AC when I get the cover off. Thanks for any extra info you can give because mine only drops 9 to 10 degrees from outside air. If it's 93° outside it is 83° inside with bubble wrap on the windshield and in the shade.

Wondering how 24.1 owners use the drop-down bed when camping if not being used for sleeping. Leave it up in place? Drop down and used as a large shelf? Remove mattress? Replace mattress with deflated air mattress? Not a mod, though a recent change in how we use the valuable real estate — makes sense to lower the bed for use as inside storage.

We just turn the seats around and leave the bed in place. Makes for a nice neat living space.

We’re on the road right now.
No need for that extra bed for the two of us

We have since removed the foam pad
(But you bring up and excellent suggestion for a blow-up bed)

It’s all storage in the drop-down bed:
- the table & two posts (2017 & later do not have table/post storage behind the sofa)
- shoes & clothes
- swimming/beach gear, extra towels/blankets
- finally, you can hide your cash (or weed) in the locked drop-down bunk

Turning the seats does make for a nice seating area. It’s typically just two of us...during extreme temps and evenings, draperies are drawn, and the lowered bed is behind those draperies. Nothing on the lowered bed can be seen. I haven’t removed the mattress, though have tried to imagine how that depth of space could be best used if I did.

That’s a great list of stored items. I could add the ladder itself (which may now be outside in the forward passenger side pass-through cubbie with mop, broom, and fishing poles). Occasionally someone asks if the 24.1 is big enough for full timing. Without the mattress, the bed box might be fit with movable dividers/spring rods for the folded inflatable mattress, water/soda bottles, rows of canned goods, boxed items like cereals, K CUPS, and sections for paper products — use the space like a horizontal pantry. Not sure of the depth.

On our 2014 the lip on the drop down isn't tall enough for the table & posts--besides we have the storage behind the couch.

Our drop down hasn't moved since the last trip our son went with us (summer 2019). I should drop it down and up to see if it still works!

I think if I used it for storage the next owner's of the RV would find a surprise: "what is all this stuff up here? ah the previous owners must have used it for storage and completely forgot!"
