Need Help Installing a Jensen 215 Replacement

I have a 2013 Thor ACE 30.1 and the Jensen 212 is not working. I found a used Jensen 215 and after wiring it in it will not turn on. I tested the red house battery wire and it is hot. However, I cannot get the yellow chassis wire to show any voltage. I have checked every fuse I can find both under the hood and in the drivers floorboard.

If the 215 is good should it turn on with just the red wire hot or do both the red and the yellow have to be hot to turn it on. I just wanted to make sure I have tried everything before I return the radio within my 30 day money back return period. Any help would be appreciated!

Make sure your store/use switch is on use. If that isn't it try connecting both leads together and see if that makes the radio work.

In mine I just tied both powers together so that when in "store" there is no power to the radio at all. We don't listen to AM/FM at all so it losing memory is not an issue (and the GPS sets the clock).

Thanks for the advice. I checked it with the house power on and there was voltage on the red line. No voltage on the yellow line. I will tie the red and yellow harness lines to the incoming red line and just leave the incoming yellow line free. I am going to try it in the morning. Hopefully that will work!

JamieGeek,

I just couldn't wait until in the morning to check out your recommendation so I headed to the motor home to rewire. As soon as I tied the red and yellow into the red the 215 powered up. Now I don't have to worry about sending it back.

I still am curious as to why the yellow line does not have any power but I can worry about that another day. I am perfectly happy with the way it is operating now. Just need to order the service pack to get the camera harness. Thanks again!
